The truck was dirty with chocolate bars left over between the windshield and the dashboard, I had to sweep the cargo area. The steering wheel shakes at 60 mi/hr.

Overall experience was horrible. Initially booked the van in one location , later it was automatically changed by uhaul system to another location and there was no intimation about this to customer. Also it van was not available on time. I had tough time to find a van .

I drove 17 miles and had to put 3.5 gallons of gas into the car. That seems a system that works against the customer.

There was Tobacco on the floor, and an empty wine bottle in the door when I picked up the truck. Oil pressure was bad, transmission overheated in the mountains more than once. U-Haul proprietor didn't seem very knowledgeable, had no dolly or pads, and no suggestions of where to get any.

When dropped off late at night difficult to find location in dark back alley also no signs to show me that I should drop keys off at the 76 station

The location I selected (one block from my apartment) was changed the day before my move, so I had to make last-minute arrangements to pick up the truck. When I arrived, the customer service representative didn't know how many miles came with the rental. He also didn't know that I had ordered 2 packages of moving blankets. He said all the info was in "one system," and he couldn't see the details of my order. He told me he didn't have blankets, and they would remove the charge for them from the bill. I didn't have time to drive to another uhaul location because I had movers meeting me at my place. I asked another employee, and he looked in my truck, and they were already there. The truck was fine, but this rental location really didn't seem to be very knowledgeable or organized.

I am disputing $9 gas charge, I have run the truck for 4 miles, I've added two gallons of gas and the meter gage was more than what I've received the truck! Please let me know as soon as possible, I will dispute the change with American Express by the end of the day. Thank you

The only reason I went to the location was due to a botched reservation nearby. They did a good job getting me on my way.

Hire employees with class and respect. And maybe 1 person who speaks English as their first language. Chris was the kid helping me and had zero customer service skills and no class. Was discourteous, didn't care to help me, and made me feel uncomfortable for being there. When I returned the van, he rudely asked me "did you put gas?" He had not once mentioned refueling and I told him I did not. He replied "Go put gas." I answered "You go put gas." and gave him the key. I just spent the last 3 days moving, was already irritated and tired and was a moment away from slapping him in the mouth. I will never return to this location again nor will I recommend it to anyone. The van I rented was very nice and clean although there were empty water bottles and napkins left in the cabin I assume from the previous renter. Loved the van. Hated the employees of the location. Thank you for your time and reading my comments. Alan

I rented a 9 foot cargo van and drove locally in Los Angeles a distance of 81 miles. The fuel consumption, with the fillup supervised by the uhaul station person monitoring the gas gauge during the fillup to 3/4 took a total of 9.5 gallons until she told me that it was enough to qualify for no extra gas charge......so, do the math: 9.5 gallons for 81 miles equals 8.5 miles per gallon.....certainly in 2017 a normal van with a v6 engine should get double that mileage or about 15 miles per gallon. My load certainly did not weigh more than 800 pounds plus one passenger, so that should not effect the mileage for driving on flat freeway terrain.......that is my complaint. I had to spend around $13 or $14 extra for gas due to the low gas mileage. My contract number is 27138245. Mitchell Weiss happyband@earthlink.net

They uhaul that we were providdd had trash in the back including 2 large wooden pallets. We were forced to leave them at our home to make room for our things. When returning the truck, we put them back in the truck thinking they were the companies pallets. When checking out the representative told me that I had to trash the pallets since it wasn't theirs. I tried explaining to her that they were not mine and they were already inside the truck. Without any courtesy or care for customer service she told me she would not take the truck back unless I got rid of 2 large heavy pallets. And that if I trash them in their bins she would charge me extra. When I asked to speak to her manager to explain the situation, she refused. I called uhaul costumer service and the rep on the phone spoke with her and told her to accept the car with the pallets. This whole ordeal took 20 minutes of my time causing me to miss an important business meeting which will result in financial loss. I will be leaving a review on yelp letting everyone know the kind of experience I've had today and let them judge for themselves whether uhaul is a good option for their moving needs or not. I expect a full refund and I will consider having my attorney send a claim for damages suffered by the financial loss. I expect to hear from someone from uhaul soon.

I asked several times if I could return my rental at the Uhaul location closer to my new apartment. The representative helping me seemed unsure (?!?) and had ME call the other location to see if they would accept it. I asked once more before leaving if I would be charged a fee for taking the uhaul to a different location when I was done (something I've done almost every time I've used uhaul), to which she said no. However, when taking my uhaul back, the other location said Woodland Hills would charge me almost $200 for a "wrong drop off location" So to avoid paying this ridiculous amount of money, I had to take an extra hour of drive time through peak LA traffic back to its original location. And pay for the return mileage. When I called the traffic number, I was informed that the cargo vans, like the one I rented, are never one-way trips, something the representative in Woodland Hills should have known. The whole incident made my move more stressful and time consuming than necessary. I doubt I will be using uhaul again.
