They over charged claimed miles not used we drive 21.8 miles and they charged us 49 miles. We out fuel in to the same place as we rented it they charged us for the fuel

First of all the gas was not at the appropriate level and was marked and signed by the owner on our contract. Then when we turned it in he denied knowing anything about it. The mileage was also wrong on our contract so we turned around and went back to question this and was told he added an extra 120 miles at no charge. But yet we were charged for an extra 14 miles when we returned it. He never went in and corrected the contract. So my quote of 228.00 ended up costing me 275.00. Lesson learned. Will not use this location again. Shady business practices at this location.

The attendant didn't give me a chance to review the fuel and mileage readings prior to signing paperwork. (I should've insisted but I didn't.) The attendant realized that the fuel was half a tank off from what was on the print out. He made a handwritten mark on the printout and initialed it. I failed to notice until I was down the road that the mileage reading was a little less than $100 off, which ended up costing me $16-17 dollars.

Pick up was sent by appointment. They took an additional hour to do the paperwork. I had reserved the trailer with a large center but was sent to a small auto sales office to pick up the trailer. They were not very interested in serving me.

I was charged two fees from this place. One $30 late fee even though I turned the truck in a day early (I still don't know why I was charged the fee even after U-Haul agreed that I returned the truck to the right place and on time). The second was a $52 fee for returning the truck with a fuel level of 9/16 instead of 11/16. Not only would I not recommend this place but I am also asking other disabled veterans though social media to boycott U-Haul for the next year. No matter the company, customer service should be the biggest priority.

I was sent to this location which is 20 miles from the location I booked. Your reservation system is a problem when it doesn't tell you were you are really getting a vehicle.

our truck was disgusting. The doors and seats were sticky, and there was trash in the truck still from the last user. we were supposed to pick up our truck at 9:30 the u-haul place didn't open til 1, the guy said he could meet us earlier to accomate us and ended showing up late. We just had a bad experience with this location.

My appointment was for 9:00 AM. The clerk that checked me in had a party the previous night and did not get up in time. He was called and said he would be there in 10 minutes. He finally arrived at 9:50. I had a loading crew standing by.

The location is being renovated so don't be put off by the appearance. While the business looks kind of rough, the owner is friendly and extremely helpful. The location is excellent, right off I-65 and close to Alabaster and Montevallo. I would rent from this location again and highly recommend it to anyone who needs to rent a uhaul. I was in and out within 10 minutes.

I would warn my friends of how bad your 1-800 customer service line is. I was redirected to the wrong people and I was disconnected 3 times. I was put on hold a couple of times for more than 5 min. You try sitting on hold for longer than 5 minutes. Poor customer service line. They don't really act like they know what they are doing.

HORRIBLE service!! These people didn't give a ___. They are a horrible representation of UHaul. I highly suggest you remove UHaul from this business. My experience was enough to stop using UHaul all together and change to a competitor.

No military discounts. Terrible customer service with the regional office. They kept switching our reservation location. They even had switched our initial reservation to two separate locations without even notifying me. When we went to the Alabaster location, the guy working there tried really hard to help us out, but the regional office had messed up our order again and put the tow dolly in Gardendale with no notification (even though we were looking right at the dolly). When both me and the guy at Alabaster tried to call the regional office, they kept putting the guy on hold, and they hung up on me 3 times. We originally wanted to pick up our equipment from the Vestavia Hills location, and we drove by there to see if they had the equipment we needed. We also called to make sure that no one else had them reserved. When we called the regional office to change our reservation, she told us that we could not pick up the equipment there or change the reservation. I hope to NEVER have to deal with the Birmingham regional office again. I even spoke with the manager 2 days prior to picking up the equipment. She was rude, unhelpful, just completely useless. I will probably use Penske the next time I move due to the lack of customer service at the Birmingham regional office and that the equipment there is less expensive for better quality.

The brake/turn signal lights on the truck were not working. The representative at the location was late. No sense of urgency what so ever. Had to call in assistance for the lights not working. I waited for 2 hours for the problem to be fixed and the location was already an hour from my home. I called extremely early in advance and the location "was the best we could do." HORRIBLE experience.
