At least try to be honest. Saying I used a quarter of a tank of gas when I returned it full to go less than 30 miles is totally dishonest

Given that I had completed all the questions associated with the rental agreement via the online form, I expected to be in there for 10 minutes and was there for almost 30 minutes. This was because I was asked all of the same questions I had previously answered. While not the worst experience, it was frustrating as I had chosen the online check-in to avoid prolonged interaction per COVID precautions. The clerk was very pleasant, but she did not wear a mask.

The 24 hour checkout with your phone process was an utter nightmare. My reservation was at 9:30 and I was there to pick it up at 9:25. The online check out process was so difficult it took until 10:15. I went through ALL the steps as instructed to take pics of my drivers license and myself. Then, I had to WAIT for approval from an online customer service agent to finish the check out which took then forever. They barely responded to me, and when they did finally, the person wanted to call someone else just to verify who I was when I had already proved that!!!! After 45 minutes of hell dealing with your ridiculous system and agents I finally get the truck and the dolly, I paid for, was missing. Then, when I was done, I took it back not knowing that I had to put in gas and check mileage. That should've been something the system tells the customer as soon as we pick up the truck. The entire experience was awful and I'll never use this company nor recommend it again.

The UHAUL representative from this location was not helpful when she confirmed our reservation the day prior. We had to drive from 30+ minutes away, and they did not have all of the equipment we requested. Rather than providing which location in our area had the outstanding material, she informed us that we needed to call the other locations ourselves. This was not a good example of customer service by UHAUL or the specific representative from the Altavista, VA location.

I made a reservation weeks ago for Lynchburg VA. I saw nowhere in my contract that it was possible I wouldn't get a vehicle at my desired location after I made my reservation. The day before I made my out of state move I get an auto generated email saying my new location was Alta Vista. I wasn't even given mileage to cover the extra drive time. I had to call and ask. I then had to drive to Roanoke to get the tow dolly and then back to Lynchburg to pack the truck. I will not be using uhaul again. The lady at this location was very pleasant.

The lot was dirt and bumpy with mud puddles maybe grade it or Blacktop Other than that it was a great experience renting from this location the owner lady was cool as hell

We were charged an extra day due to poor communication. We had originally wanted to pick up at 11am, and told we should return at 11am the next day. And we were told we could pick up at any time before 11 am. When we picked truck up at 9:45, we still believed we could return at 11 am. But we had an emergency at home that night and were unable to unload. We were called in the morning that they needed it by 9:45, unbeknown to us. We unloaded in the morning and returned it by 11 am --AND WERE CHARGED AN EXTRA DAY. Communication was bad and we were charged an extra day due to poor communication! I want my refund.

The location opens at 9 on Saturday I needed to be hooked and gone by 730. Got the dolly had to hook it up myself with no help. Didn't even help check the lights. Just went inside. Went to load the vehicle on it and the strap was in a bind in the handle. Had to take it to another location for repair.

This location didn't have any furniture pads and was 30 miles from our house. To be fair though, this is a very small uhaul rental shop so I place more blame on Uhaul the company than on this particular location because the company ultimately was the one who mis-scheduled my reservation.

Irene, the manger at Altavista Online was professional, courteous and helpful. However, the telephone representative I spoke to on Monday regarding a change to the drop off location was very rude, unaccommodating and not helpful. I encourage you to pull the telephone recording and listen to the interaction that transpired. I hung up with that representative, called again, and spoke with a different representative (I believe her name was Diane) and she was friendly and very helpful.
