The site did not have our ordered blankets and dolly. As I understand it though, the issue was with the corporate system, not the franchise. Even after ordering in advance, pre-paying, and signing up for advanced check-out, we still had to call around to multiple Uhaul locations the morning of to find an additional place we had to stop to pick up blankets and a dolly. All while on a timeline required by Uhaul, and with financial consequences to us as we also had laborers and deadlines we needed to meet on our move day. Completely unacceptable. Add to the fact that the pick-up location was 40 miles away from our preferred pick-up location, and there were numerous closer franchise offices, and we didn't find out the further location until the night before, Uhaul has a very poor operating model and operating system, and also takes no accountability for the issues, errors, and burdens placed on the customers. I will not use them for my next move. Time to switch to a competitor.

Cut ropes still hanging from a previous customer, gas tank had less than a quarter tank of fuel, despite being told it was half full, given the wrong equipment and some weird spray marks on inside of cargo area of truck.

the trailer was frozen into the mud. we had to spend an hour digging it out of the frozen ground ourselves. one of the workers did lend us a hammer and a screwdriver to make our chiseling easier. my husband had use our car jack to jack the trailer out of the frozen ground once he dug out enough under it to fit the jack in. we did order the trailer a day ahead of time and expected it to be ready for pick up when we got there.

The location was not trained and I had to wait about 20 minutes to get the the key for truck.

Location is fine, equipment was great, it's just very frustrating when your waiting to go and your pickup location is a retail store that must wait on other customers first and delay your transaction. I still have not received a receipt. Not the clerks fault, they were pleasant and frustrated also. Uhaul should set guidelines for these locations.
