They truck I got wasn't at the gas level when I got it and was told to bring it back where it was when I got it then when it was inspected I was charged for it because I left the key in the drop box this was b.s

Upon 1st occupancy the Gas gage needle was just slightly below 1/2 full! Upon returning the truck, I topped it up to half full. Yes, I traveled beyond 200 miles, i.e., Bolingbrook to Aurora,, Hillside,, IL., Engelwood, IL and back to Sears (Bolingbrook). The truck was returned at 9:00P, after several stops on 55 to secure lift gate! Why... because the key to the lock didn’t belong to the lock!!! My complaint is simply this; spent more than $100 on gas, also topped it to half full, but charged An additional $64 for gas!!!

I've rented two UHaul trucks in the last two weeks. All in all a good experience. My only gripe is that you tell them where you would like to pick up the vehicle and then they call and tell you where you need to pick it up. I understand the logistics of availability, but the pick up for the one I rented this week was 40 miles out of my way.

I received a call from a Uhaul regional office stating that the truck had not been returned when in fact it had. Something is missing in the way trucks are checked back in (it was an after hours drop off). The person on the phone was nice and checked to see that the truck had in fact been dropped off. How to improve? I should not have had to take time to follow up on the drop off. There should be a quick way for receiving locations to at least do a quick check in of returned vehicles, so at least there is a record of the vehicle returned. While the Uhaul staff was apologetic about the delay in registering the returned vehicle, it should not have happened.

My rating has nothing to do with the location in which we received the truck. The employee in Sears who was NOT a U-Haul employee did his best to make a bad situation better. The truck we rented reeked very strongly of gasoline and was unusable to move mattresses, furniture and clothing out of state. No one at U-Haul customer service was reachable by the Sears employee nor myself and my husband. We called many different customer service numbers and were unsuccessful in reaching ANY U-haul employees. The list of numbers we called included the district manager and the CEO which were on a help sign for issues that could arise. 26 minutes were spent on hold waiting for help by my husband alone. No one ever answered. We were given a different larger truck for the evening by the Sears employee and told to call Uhaul the next morning to resolve the issue that the particular truck we were given was not allowed out of state. In the morning, a customer service employee was able to contact a manager to agree to our use of the truck out of state but stipulated we must return it to Illinois instead of the one way rental we originally booked. It was very very inconvenient but our entire rental was refunded. We are shocked at how poorly our rental experience was with U-haul. It is very unlikely we will use U-Haul again given the extreme difficulty we had in getting problems that arose solved in a timely manner.

It took me 30 mins to pick up the van because the only people that had access to the system was busy entertaining customers. Also, before teturning the van I was told I could park it and just leave the key inside a box. As a result I was charged an extra day- a eindfall profit for Uhaul.

I had a 6:30 reservation for a 10 foot truck. I arrived on time and there was only one person in the store who could rent me the truck. He was busy and I had to wait 10 minutes. After that wait he had to text someone for the uhaul login information. Once in the system he found my reservation but could not find the keys to the truck I rented. He was looking all over then he helped another customer purchase fertilizer as another sears employee just sat there and watched. At this point I had been waiting 45 minutes. He finally called someone and they authorized another truck which was larger, 15ft. I specifically wanted the 10 footer because I was driving in the city and needed to park. With the larger truck it made my move very difficult as the street I was on was very narrow and I could not leave the truck. I would have rented form an actual uhaul location however I could not get there before closing and the sears location was very convenient however the service was terrible. Uhaul should monitor there satellite locations better. I will not be renting from there again.

The Lady we were referred to as we arrived was so arrogant, unwilling to help us, I was turned back twice saying they do not have keys for vehicles there.Only third I arrived with my Son and we had to insist her to check for the keys because online we got the message to say our vehicle was ready.We spent about an hour her trying to turn us back, until another gentleman took over and resolve the situation. She was more willing to help another person came after us. When she got the keys, was not apologetic for her actions. The Lady at the Counter as we entered was respectful, until she referred us to this Lady who was so arrogant. Finally we were assisted by the Gentleman,who took over. And we thank you for the transport service you provide us, hopefully someday the Lady will be enlightened that all customers are equal and deserve equal respect and service. Thank you, Christopher

Could not find how much gas was in the rental before dropping off... Have to go from memory... Would be nice if you can check current rental and see what mileage and gas was when first rented once logged in

I ordered a truck and dolly. The day before my move I was rerouted to this location. The location and staff was pleasant and respectful but they didnt have my dolly. So on the day of my move I picked up my truck here and had to drive to my preferred location to get the dolly. It was inconvenient and caused delays.

The store manager was absolutely clueless. When I made reservations a week in advance I was told that pick up would be 8am, I did not leave with the uhaul until 10:45am. That was unprofessional and unacceptable. I will never recommend services from Sears.

My moving company cancelled on me thirty minutes before they were supposed to arrive. Totally screwed me. I then called this location and had nothing but total success and accommodation. The man that helped was so so nice and the truck was well maintained. I was so pleased with this business location. Will definitely use again

Do not schedule a pickup time when an agent is not present. We had a 1 pm pickup and the agent isn't there until 4 pm. Took telephoning and a very kind Sears employee get us the keys. The truck was clean inside but filthy outside. The windows had bugs all over it and even scrubbing wouldn't remove them. Then to add insult i had to travel to another Uhaul location to pick up the box order.. I had selected a location that had both the boxes and the truck. However, after doing the online order and getting confirmation of for all a couple of days before the pickup date I received an email saying i had to go to a different location to get the truck. This seemed simple until trying to find the locations. POnce I found the truck I had to drive nearly 10 miles to find the place as it was a most confusing area especially to an out of towner. Then today I received an invoice for additional mileage. I don't feel I should have to pay it because of the changes you made after the fact in location and also the original order said i had 275 miles then when i got the change order it was reduced to 263. I also returned the truck with more fuel in it than what was in it when I received it. I was overall please with the vehicle and the Uhaul in general except for the frustrations associated with your change order. The main location had several trucks but stated that they were scheduled for other pick ups.

Really good experience. Cargo Van was great in every respect. Rented for 24 hours, Naperville to Chicago and back. Drop off box for keys made it easy to complete the rental on the same day.
