I would not recommend UHaul to anyone. I reserved a truck on Friday morning to be picked up that same day. The web site said the place I reserved it from would call me to confirm when I could pick it up. I waited several hours and no one called. So I called them only to get an answering machine. So I waited another couple of hours. Then called them again. Still no answer. So I called the main UHaul customer service number. They had to find a place that was still open (it was 4:45 pm) and that had the smaller truck I needed. I wasted an entire day waiting for the truck. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. I swore several years ago when I had a bad experience with UHaul that I would never use them again. I was in a bind this time and UHaul was my last resort. Interestingly, the company has not changed. Still a terrible experience.

I was reservation the equipment online 4day before to get my equipment at this location ,they didn't ready rental equipment that i reserved, and they keep sending me to another located to my equipment, i almost spents 4 or 5 hours to get the equipment, that is really mess up,i think online reservation for rental by this company has worse experience ever..

The trailer we were given had a huge chunk of rubber missing from the tire, why they even would allow that to go out is unbelievable. The trailer they wanted to give us in trade had dry for all across the whole tire. The trailer we chise to take ( one with new tires) the manager said was "on reserve" and gave us a hard time. Ultimately, web got the trailer we requested. Manager, (Don or Dan Goddard) is NOT customer oriented. He had a phone right in front of him on his desk, yet told the customer to go outside and sit in the parking lot And call roadside assistance to come and replace the bad tire...and oh by the way, it would be a two hour wait..min. This is ridiculous. No offer to call for the customer or assist. Did offer to trade the trailer ( one bad tire for another trailer with a bad tire). Kuddos, he did help unload the contents from one trailer to another ..probably to get us out of his hair. U_haul..bad equipment, poor customer service. It will be Budget or Penske for me from now on. My Facebook friends will hear about this experience as well.

I had issues with gas amounts upon return. I followed the instruction sheet on how much to put in and even put in a little extra but was hit with additional charges. My rental price changed three times from the reservation person to the desk person to the final turn in person even though I drove less miles than anticipated.

I am not happy with the online booking service and express check in and would like to talk to someone about it. When you reserve a truck in wilksboro nc and you get there and they say the truck is in statesville NC. I was a very mad person. And cussed someone that I shouldn't have. So over all a not great experience with u-haul this trip

1 I reserved a cargo van, but when I arrived for pickup at the appointed time, no such vehicle was available. Instead, I was assigned a pick-up truck--only other option offered to me was a 26-foot truck, gross overkill. As it turned out, the pick-up worked fine--but that would not have been the case had the forecasted rain arrived before I finished my move. 2 There is a 59.5 cents per mile mileage charge added to the vehicle rental fee, AND renters are required to refill the tank to the same level that existed at pickup time. Seems to me the rather steep mileage charge should include fuel usage.

The van was old (185k miles) and passenger side of cab smelled like Marijuana. Returned the truck at 10pm, 16 hours earlier than I could have. The next day I saw an addition 25 dollar cleaning charge was added to my bill. I called the office and the agent advised that she would have mngr call. He never called but sent a text message of a small amount of leaves in the back. As it was so dark uponreturn I had not noticed the tiny amount of leaves left behind. Have called corporate twice and manager refuses to get back to me. 25 dollars is almost as much as another full day at 29.99. It's an exorbitant fee to charge for a 1 minute sweep out. And the fact that he won't respond with a phone call shows what a cowardly theif he is. Very poor customer service.

The personal was great to deal with and got me in and out fast! Especially the drop off and e-mailed my receipt as I was unhooking the trailer. My only negative comment is that location, has NO parking. I mean only two spots! Especially for the traffic they get through that store. Will recommend that location to everyone! Thankyou

My experience with U-Haul was very unpleasant. I rented a moving truck and was not told the roof of truck had a hole in it. The result of such a lack of Integrity on behalf of Donald Goddard (General Manager) was my new $2000 couch is now ruined because it was rained on for more than half of my ten-hour drive! Also, I drove with the brake light on which could have resulted in major injury or death to myself or other people. This is exactly the type of irresponsibility and negligence that should (and will) be made known to the public before making the mistake of renting from U-Haul.
