The vehicle I use was not entirely cleaned out and I had ruded around in it with graffiti all over it.

I was charged for 100 miles over the actual mileage I used. When I brought this up, the attendant "fixed" the situation, but actually just charged me for the newly adjusted fee and didn't reimburse me for the overcharge.



I was told that I hadn't paid for the truck beforehand (I had paid online, but they insisted that I hadn't). I explained that I needed to drop off the truck at my destination instead of returning it to the same spot (they messed this up on the paperwork). I asked if I should go back in to verify this information when we looked at the truck and they told me not to worry about it. This caused me to be double-charged (haven't been refunded) and a frustrating call to figure out where to drop off the truck.

This is not a criticism of the location, just Uhaul. My rental was not available because it was filled with another customer's stuff and uhaul reserved me a smaller van at a different location. It cost me more time/trips between locations and my movers had to leave and I did a lot of the work myself. I also had to pay extra cab fare to the second pick up location, extra gas, and I just spent 30 min on the phone trying to get the extra milage charges taken off my account and the issue is still not resolved.

Easy to pick up and a convenient location for me. The back of the cargo van was not clean, but since I was moving outdoor furniture I didn't care. Average experience, I would rent again.

Didn't have the van I rented and was stuck with a pick up truck!!!!! Inside was DISGUSTING AND DIRTY. Location staff had NO CLUE what they were doing. We checked in online and they tried to have us repeat the check in. Clueless.

The truck, cabin and cargo, were very filthy. The cargo's floor was covered with used motor oil. The gas gauge was at 1/2 when their paper indicated it was 3/4 full. i will not recommend this location!

Try not double booking trucks. I booked a week in advance and you gave my truck to someone else. This cost me a great deal of time and money.

It was a convenient location for pickup. That is all I can say positively. My gas level on the contract read 1/2 full, but when I walked a few hundred yards to the vehicle, it read less than a quarter tank. That's kind of a bad position for me as I signed at the checkout counter for the 1/2 tank and am therefore required to fill it back up to that level. Albeit, I only went a total of maybe 7 miles total (a local move), it is ridiculous that my Cargo Van rental became an additional $30 because I had to refill the gas tank to a level that it was supposed to be at when picked up. The vehicle was also filled with several paper contracts from previous customers, three to be exact. The oldest that I found was dated to 7/12 (my rental was on the 28th) and this contract was in plain view. It leads me to believe that Uhaul does not clean nor check their vehicles for excessive debris. A couple of cigarettes, a full can of soda, a few empty bottles, and a dirty cargo area were also in play. Not a great look and again puts me in a bad position. (I thought I'd be charged for the mess despite it not being mine.) I was warned of the gas issue from a friend, but I assumed it was a fluke and perhaps the location was busy and this detail was overlooked. It seems that customers are stuck footing the bill for an inept staff that fails to maintain even basic quality control. I will be relaying my concerns to Uhaul separately if I do not hear back from this survey. My $55 rental became over $85 in addition to cleaning the cargo area and the cab of the van as I feared that I would be charged a cleaning fee. Please consider the customer before moving forward with rentals at this location.

I rented my uhaul truck on 7/15/17 and picked it up at 11am and dropped it off at 5pm. I was then charged for a two day rental period.

Hi, this was one of the worst truck rental locations I've been to, not just for U-Haul, but of any truck rental business. The pick-up location is in an auto repair shop that is not well kept. I understand its an auto repair shop, but even auto repair shops keep "clean shops" - this place was a disaster zone. Greasy floors, screws/parts on the checkout counter, dirty bathrooms, etc. There were only 4 people in front of my in line and it took nearly an hour to get the truck, and this is with me having done online checkin prior to arrival. U-Haul would do much better business if it did not work with locations like this. U-Haul needs well designed storefront, knowledgable sales people that are capable of upselling services, a storefront that has the available add-ons nicely displayed, etc. Public Storage is a great example of this. This U-Haul location was nowhere close.

why are most of your rental centers in completely dilapidated and rundown gas station or auto repair shops? I hesitate to send my wife alone because every single time these places are scary-looking and have the most unsavory people working. I doubt I'll ever rent again due SOLEY to this factor alone! Have you seen these places? it's like U-haul sees a burned out auto repair shop and decides it's a great place for a rental center. just google street view this location: DEF Truck Auto Repair Inc. in Brooklyn and tell me you would send your loved ones there. from a customer service standpoint, it's simply terrible!

This locating was disgusting. Staff was rude and unprofessional and they did not have two uhaul dollies which I prepaid for. They also lied about what time they closed stating they closed earlier than they actually did. I would never recommend this place or uhaul again.

Our experience with UHAUL was unfortunately very stressful and unpleasant. After making a reservation nearly one month in advance to pick up a truck on Saturday, June 24 at 7am at the Philadelphia branch, I was contacted on the day before pick up and told that there would not be a truck available for us in Philadelphia. The only alternative given to me was to pick up a truck at a location 10 miles outside of the city, 3 hours after our reserved time. As we had scheduled movers to help us pack up our apartment at 7:30am and needed to be in New York to meet another set of movers by 1pm, this was unacceptable. After speaking on the phone with representatives from various locations/departments for approx. 4-5 hours, I was finally given the option to pick up a truck in New York to drive an additional ~100 miles to Philadelphia and back the following day. In addition to the ~100 miles added to our trip due to this change, we were also forced to spend ~$80 on gas to compensate for the additional driving, and we had to pay round-trip ~$150 in tolls to get the UHAUL truck out of and back into New York City. Despite all of this hassle, we were still able to get the truck back to its original location (286 Park Ave, Brooklyn, NY) within 24 hours, but we were still charged for a 2-day round-trip rental. Given the extreme set-backs and the additional cost caused by our experience with UHAUL, I would like to request that all or a large portion of our expenses be refunded.
