I used the self pick up app on my phone. The phone gave me the truck number to use and then told me which lock box to get the key from. The key opened the truck door but would not start the vehicle. I had to wait an hour to get ahold of someone and then they told me the key number and truck number did not match. Luckily, the correct truck for the key was on the lot and I used that one. When returning the vehicle, the manager on site told me I had to park the uhaul. I told him I didn't feel comfortable parallel parking the uhaul because I was worried I would hit something and he said too bad it says on the key "self park". So I said wow this has been terrible service all day because of the key incident earlier and walk out to go park it. The manager then follows me out and says "You're and asshole. It's not my fault you messed up the key this morning. You're immature give me my fucking truck back. Get all your belongings and go." And then continues to yell at me and call me an asshole as I walk away. Would not go back to this recommendation if my life depended on it and would not suggest anyone else go there.

The customer associates were pleasant, but it would have been helpful to be told before we drove off the lot that none of the UHaul vehicles (including the cargo van) are allowed on the FDR. Make sure you pay close attention to where you are and are not allowed to park if returning a vehicle after hours, as those spots are not particularly well marked.

The guy who was working the desk was really great. Super knowledgable and friendly. Unlike any customer service experience I've had in Brooklyn. The gas pricing is absolutely ridiculous. I filled the tank nearby and all I did was drive the short distance to the drop off and got charged the same amount that I got charged for filling the tank for my entire trip. It would have been nice if this location offered a key drop box for returns after hours. Also, the pricing advertised is incredibly misleading.

The vehicle I requested online was not available at the location despite having booked it online. At the time is pickup, no vehicles were also prepared. I had to call the specialty line to have a vehicle setup for me and it was a small 10' ft truck - much more than I needed. This also delayed my day by 45 minutes.

There's a guy that sits behind the counter that is very rude. He's a big guy with freckles. Also, the mileage was wrong on my truck. When I brought it back I used 10 miles but was charged for the extra mile that I didn't use. The big fat guy said that they round up to the next mile which is unheard of and I've been using Uhaul for years. This is not the first time I've had a complaint about this guy but it was the only location that had a truck available. He needs to learn customer service.

This was the most stressful move i've ever gone through. I had my van reserved for ten hours, 10am-8pm, to give myself an entire day to move from one side of Brooklyn to the other. I went to pick it up and he told me I had to bring it back by 2:00. Less than half of the time I had it reserved for. I objected, told him that was incorrect and what my reservation actually was, and he was so mean about it I nearly cried. On top of that, they were running behind, so I didn't leave the store until at least 10:30. Instead of 10 hours to move, I was given less than four. I didn't finish. I have to rent another van. Move again this weekend. And spend even more money on something that should have been entirely unnecessary. Needless to say, the new rental I need will absolutely not be a Uhaul, and I will never be coming back.

Do not accept Self-Pick up reservations on Sundays when you cannot fulfill them for that coming Monday. I was waiting out in the rain for two hours trying to get my Uhaul order sorted. Do not put opening hours as 9am when you do not show up until 9:30 and cannot provide orders until 10am. Folks working at this location were over all kind, and the vehicle i ended up with was clean but there's a major problem with timeliness and customer respect when you cannot commit to your business hours and rental orders/contracts.

I arrived when the office was closed to have my first experience with the "self check-in" service. Despite being on time, the software told me that equipment had not been to assigned to my request. I called the provided number, the man said someone was there to help me but no one came to say anything or offer assistance. I waited and called back and he did not answer the phone. It wasn't until 90 minutes later that I received a text that my reservation had been fixed. I requested an adjustment to the rental fee and have not heard back from anyone. Another person when I picked up was having the same problem, and two people were having the same difficulties when I dropped the truck off 6 hours later. It was frustrating to not know what to expect from the pick up software, including submitting pictures of the truck and waiting to have my ID verified by a person through the app - wasn't sure if it would take 2 minutes or another hour! Very disappointed in UHaul's service in Brooklyn.

The location was amazing, but the service from U Haul was absolutely terrible. Spent 3 hours on the phone, got "I don't know" from various reps, the calls got disconnected over and over again. The man at this particular location was the only helpful person I dealt with, no one on the phone knew what was going on. I will NEVER use U haul again.
