After having a reservation for a location less than 10 miles away for pick up, I was notified by U-Haul I could not pick up at that location and had a choice between two other locations that were both close to 30 miles away. I chose the location north of me. I arrived to the pick up location and it literally took over an hour for the person to process the paperwork. We went out to inspect the car dolly and the right wheelwell was damaged, but the trailer appeared to be operational. They told me I could go to the other location, which was a hour away, to see if that location had a different trailer. We were ready to roll out for AZ and did not have time to drive an hour south, take our chances on another trailer, so we were really left with no other options. I checked the lights on the dolly and they worked when I tested them. Upon arriving to AZ, I returned the car dolly to a nearby U-Haul center. The manager did a post inspection of the lights and trailer. When he asked for my contract, I told him I was not given a contract, but they gave me the inspection form, which I learned they were supposed to keep. As the manager began to recreate the contract, I found an email containing the contract. He finished processing the return paperwork and advised me that trailer should have never been rented out, that it should have been taken out of rotation and set aside for repair as the wiring was faulty and is deemed unsafe for consumer use until properly repaired. I am thankful for making the 1000 mile trip without incident. This is the second time in two years I have had an issue with the tow dollies and will most likely not be a returning customer. It costs a lot of money to rent this equipment and to know it did not meet the required safety standard bothers me. And having to travel so much further to pick up said equipment was ridiculous. The manager at the drop off went beyond my expectations in getting the tow dolly returned and it too minimal time.

Returned truck to location. Attendant untrained - did not know how to check us in or where to park the truck. He made a phone call and we were sent to the Patriot Station location - Manager there was not prepared for us and was confused. Had to make a phone call to get instructions on how to check us out on the computer. Took half hour.

Long story here. Delay in pickup by over an hour. No paperwork or contract provided with truck. My contract was a portion of a cigarette carton with the mileage and fuel level on it. Truck dirty. Bill was wrong twice. I returned truck same day yet u haul showed it as not returned. The location is a liability for u haul and the anyone renting from there.

1. I got in the truck, drove out, realized the gas tank was not full and turned back around. The attendant (older lady) assured me it was full (the needle was showing about 4/5 - not at the F). I took her at her word and left 2. When I returned, I had driven 35 miles. Gas cost me $15. thats almost 2mpg. The needle now was PEGGED at F, meaning the tank before was NOT FULL. 3. Different lady did not credit me for extra gas. 4. I dont know if this was on purpose and if this location regularly scams renters for gas. Guessing at 5mpg, it should have cost me only $7. ALSO, the warning indicator OIL CHANGE REQUIRED was on the entire time I had the truck.

They have not been an Exxon for years and the owner rudely stated that to me. I said, you are still listed as Exxon with u-haul. They need to change the name from Exxon to Patriot Gas. Thank you.

It's a crowded gas station/mini-mart with little room for people to stand around and wait, and there is nowhere to sit down while waiting. But the busy attendant was cheerful and nice and did her best to tend to everyone in time...gas station customers as well as u-Haul.

This place was unhelpful, person tried to charge me more! He didn't know what he was doing. Each time a store customer would come in he would stop my process and help the other customer. It took a really long time! Very unhelpful!

This rental was a problem from beginning to end. We were called about picking up the vehicle at an alternative location instead the original for a "discount". When we arrived, its like they never heard of us. Did not get the discount. Might as well not have made a reservation on line. Still had to drive to the original location for supplies pre-paid. I was expecting the moving blankets to be part of the supplies at that location, but there were none. Turns out I was charged for not returning them (never received). Apparently they should have been given at the point of truck rental? OMG this is so ridiculous. Truck smelled like hunters used it to haul carcasses in hot weather. Truck bounced so much on the 9 hour trip I got 99 stairs on my fitbit. I have called "customer service", forget it, they won't talk to you until you file a complaint. Consider this my complaint. Very rude woman who took the truck. She made me go and get the miles and gas levels instead of doing it herself. She did not come do a walk through of the vehicle to make sure there was no damage even though I asked her to. There were no other customers in her store. I wanted to make sure that since the truck was being left on the street that she knew I did not return it with any damage.

You can enforce your contract with this vendor, or cancel your contract. Per UHaul regional office, they are supposed to take drop-offs regardless of whether the truck is in their system or not, yet the clerk said her boss insisted she NOT take drop-offs if they aren't in their system. Also, you can have the first-choice drop-off location (this one) CALL ME, as the pick-up location did, prior to the rental day to confirm the drop-off availability, times, etc. I had to call SIX TIMES, including three times to the vendor (busy, busy, busy) and three times to UHaul regional office, before I got this confirmation. The third time to regional, I found the previous rep had changed the drop off location in the system without telling me, so when I finally got through to the drop off vendor, guess what, I wasn't in their system anymore. I had to call regional AGAIN and have them switch it back, then call vendor while I was on hold, have her refresh her computer, then confirm to me. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially given that you switched my pick-up location and it screwed up my schedule. Between the screw-ups this time and last time, in March, I will never use UHaul again and will tell others so. Reverse word of mouth, folks. Get your act together!
