This location was very conveniently located for me and the ability to use the 24/7 app for drop off was great. The lot is small so it was hard to park the truck which is why I wouldn’t recommend it to someone unless that location was also convenient. Also the key drop could be more clearly marked or an actual box it was more of an open handle in the door.

This location worked well. The employees were very kind and helpful. However, this was NOT the drop off location that was sent to me on my confirmation email. I had to search for an available truck myself after u-haul failed to provide me with a location that had a rental for pick-up. Called and drove around all around West LA in search for an available truck. I was lucky that this location had a recent cancellation and I was able to pick up the truck. But I am incredibly dissatisfied with the organization and customer service of u-haul. What is the point of calling to schedule a location and pick-up time when the one provided didn't even have one ready? I was on hold for over 20 minutes with u-haul customer service and gave up on speaking with a representative. Overall, this delayed my move by nearly 2 hours.

The gentleman running this location was extremely unorganized, sketchy, rude and unprofessional. He rents out his parking lot to a sleezy Mexican restaurant next door for valet and failed to communicate that with me so when I tried to return the van after business hours, there was no where for me to park. I was really confused and asked both the valet guy and the restaurant manager to make space for me to park the van back on to the property, as I was advised to, and they both refused and were rude. The business was closed the next day and I had to park the van on the street. I was extremely worried about the van I set my alarm to call the location at 8 am Monday morning to advise the gentleman where I parked the van. He was upset with me because I didn’t do the self check out online. I was unable to because I was not told that I had to take a Live Photo of the speedometer. I took the photo as anyone would prior to returning the van. I tried to upload the photo but was unable to. He kept asking me why I didn’t do the self check out but wouldn’t allow me the time to explain to him the situation and kept saying “I didn’t ask you about parking! I asked you why you didn’t complete the self check out!” As I continued to try to answer him and explained to him, he just kept interrupting me! This is by far the WORST experience I’ve had with renting a U-Haul! I have rented a U-Haul several times and I have never encountered such horrendous customer service like this before. He should not be allowed to be a U-Haul dealer based on his level of professionalism and lack of empathy, considering I am a single female trying to move a large piece of furniture by myself to my pregnant sister! This level of unprofessionalism is unnecessary and should be promptly addressed for future customers having to deal with an already stressful time with moving!

Didn't get the equipment I reserved (pads+dolly). Was told by the location it would be taken off my reservation. It wasn't. I was also charged $28 for safe move coverage. It was $15 when I agreed to purchase it. I then reached out to the location and asked for clarification on the charges and got no response

I was initially sent to a nearby location to pick up the uhaul (3573 Overland Ave). When I arrived at my assigned pick up time, the location was closed, there was no one on site and there were only cars needing repair on the lot. It was not in a safe neighborhood. I called a representative and they sent me to this site, which was much better and open.

It was a fast and smooth transaction. I was actually looking for a truck, but the owner, Dmitri, suggested a carrier van might be a good fit for my needs. He was right. I would gladly go back to the 8651 Washington Bl location.

Service person Dmitri charged my card after we left without my knowledge for a cleaning fee. When i called to inquire he was rude, told me to call where I picked up the truck. Hung up on me. Then texted me pictures of the outside of the truck. Since when am i supposed to take the truck to a car wash to clean the outside? The guy shouldn't be representing your company. A district rep called me back to help me after i complained and reversed the charges. I will NEVER rent from that location or have anything to do with Dmitri at Culver City.

I was charged over $300 accidentally. The money was refunded but it was a major inconvenience. While initially the worker at culver automotive, Demetri was very pleasant and helpful when first picking up the van, when I called to ask about the charge he was very impatient and offered poor customer service. Honestly I don't think I should have to pay anything after dealing with this headache.

Based on my previous experience with renting out a U-Haul truck, this specific location (Culver Automotive) did not do things “by the book” when it came to renting out a U-Haul from them. First, he overcharged us. The total online when we booked was $123, but he charged $150 in person and said this was the total with all the taxes. He said, “I basically clicked ‘OK’ to everything you did online” when I expressed confusion about the total. He never showed us the screen, didn’t gave us a contract to sign, or a receipt. He said the receipt would be emailed, but it wasn’t. When we called to request a receipt, he said he couldn’t give it to us. He said it was already sent and that he “could not resend it.” He then said we “weren’t even in their system” and denied that they ever rented out a U-Haul truck to anyone that morning! He said he couldn’t help and to contact U-Haul Customer Service and hung up. The person we rented the truck from and spoke on the phone with was the OWNER of the company. The Customer Service Representative VERIFIED that there were changes to our reservation at pick-up. The owner took it upon himself to add the SafeMove insurance which we opted out of, and he never informed us. On their business Yelp page, most of their reviews are complaints that this company is crooked, scammers, and that they rip off their customers. When confronted, they deny that person ever received services there and that they are “not in their system.” It’s unfortunate that this company is ruining U-Haul’s brand and reputation with their blatant dishonesty and poor customer service. I hope U-Haul investigates this location and no longer allows them to rent out U-Haul vehicles to anyone.

I had literally come from two other neighborhood U-Hauls and the experience at both was subpar and quite frankly subhuman. I complained to corporate and they did nothing other than switch my reservation to Culver Automotive. The owner was pleasant, sympathetic, helpful and expedient. I wish he'd been my first and only stop!!
