The two employees who attempted to rent me the trailer are totally inept when it comes to completing a U-Haul transaction. They were like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. It took almost an hour of "I don't know what's wrong", "how do I fill this out", "But he doesn't want to rent a truck", let's start over" (three or four times actually), "let's call U-Haul for help" (U-haul never did answer the phone by the way), an equally incompetent third employee walked by, punched a few keys, called U-Haul again, and again no answer and then she disappeared. All they offered me was a pitiful plea they didn't know what was wrong. I noticed two names and phone numbers of U-Haul managers on the desk. I called the one labeled President and he answered his phone. Within minutes he had another person call me and in less that three minutes he had the situation resolved much to the dismay of the first two bumbling employees. We went to hook the trailer up to my truck and the employee who went with me had little clue on how to hook up the lights and safety chains so I assisted him. Upon returning the trailer I insisted he, the same employee come out to the lot and inspect and check in the trailer which he did. The only issue there was he inspected and checked in a totally different trailer than I had rented. I allowed him to finish and then asked him again if he would inspect my trailer, which by the way I did sweep out before returning as it had not been swept before I rented it. I will continue to use U-Haul when needed, but NEVER will I return to this Ace Hardware store and U-Haul dealer for anything. Their customer service is horrible and their prices are way too high on most things. By the way, at the same time I was waiting for a resolution to my rental attempt another gentleman left the store claiming that he could not find what he was looking for and there was nobody around able or willing to help him so he was going to drive out of his way and go to Menards. That is two customers lost by this Ace Hardware in an hour. Not a good way to conduct business. It seems like the art and and courtesy of customer service is in serious trouble. Oh wait! Menards has wonderful customer service, they just don't rent trailers. I will NEVER go back to this ACE Hardware again for anything. Thanks to the two managers from U-Haul for taking care of my situation.

Everything went fine ...but maybe a quick walk thru on the parking brake .. (if others see this, for the type we had, dont let the buzzer cause you to jump thru the roof while you look for a missing release button, just push the handle back towards the floor before you start the truck lol)

The mobile check-in process was the most pointless thing. For something that I expected to take 1-2 minutes it took 20. Going through a lengthy verification process was very frustrating but I also understand. But then you are coonexted to a “live agent” who has to then verify additional information. At that point I was very frustrated. Then I have to go into the store to get the keys. To have a mobile check in and still have to go in the store makes no sense at all! Then the 3 people in the store had no idea what to do with someone who used the mobile check in feature. It was a very frustrating and disappointing process. The U-Haul was in acceptable clean condition but I wouldn’t call it spotless by any means. There was a decent amount of visable dirt on the black lining throughout the front. Overall I am very dissatisfied.

We was assured a pre inspection check had been done & that all damage was marked with stickers. Thankfully we did our own pre inspection. We found a hole all the way through the truck the size of a baseball on the right side of the truck caused by the tail pipe. We had to go back into the store & have the damage documented. When we went to return the truck to the location U Haul had given us we discovered the place was no longer affiliated with U Haul. We spent 47 minuets on the phone with U Haul without getting a location to drop the truck off at. All the representive did was gave us a # to call the next morning. The next morning when we called the # we was told the closest location for us to drop the truck off at was 25 minuets away. We was told a manager would call us about our complaint. I guess they must have meant sometime in the future because we have not heard from anyone in the last 8 hours.

The confirmation email has a different location than the actual location. What the heck? The folks at ACE could have been friendlier. All in all not a terrible experience.

I originally asked for a 15 foot truck when I made the appointment in store. The day I went to pick it up they gave me a 10 footer so instead of making one trip I had to make two. The man working that day was rude in my opinion.

Ace Hardware did a great job and offered me a discount because UHAUL double booked my trailer. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH UHAUL FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SIMPLE TRAILER WHEN AND WHERE I NEEDED IT. I WILL CONTINUE TO SHOP AT ACE HARDWARE, BUT WILL NOT USE UHAUL AGAIN!!! I reserved a trailer to be picked up at 10 am at stop and go storage, but instead uhaul sets me up with a trailer at Ace hardware at 11:30. I showed up to pick up the trailer and waited until noon, no trailer! So I finally rented a small truck instead and the kind manager at ACE gave me a discount for me trouble. The location is not where I requested for the pickup and I had to drive further for this location. THe wipers were in poor shape and I had to drive in rain that day and it made for very unsafe driving conditions.

I booked movers through I haul and the movers backed the truck poorly and broke our headboard. The truck was great though, I just wish the movers were more professional.

U haul is the standard in rental vehicles, no disputing that,but your dishonest when quoting the price. You should be above sucking the customer with any given quote ,only for the customer to find out its another hundred bucks after you charge exorbitant price for insurance and tax the crap out of us .just include that information in the quote.God we are all on a budget of some kind or another,it makes your company look like snake oil salemen,just be up front

I reserved a 10 foot truck on July 23. I was emailed on August 3 that my truck was not available at that location and I would have to drive 20 miles to get the same truck. Notification should have been made a lot sooner. I was able to secure a 15 foot truck from the same location which was helpful but more truck than I needed.
