I feel bad for Jose, but we did not feel safe at this location when we arrived. Also, the man who came out to swap out a blown out tire said that we should have never been allowed to drive the truck in that condition on those tires.

car trolley was said to hooked up and ready. Once truck was loaded found out lights were not working had to have service come out late at night to fix keeping me awake late when I was leaving early. Very poor service to not have this fixed prior to me noticing.

Two days before the reservation I received a call from Jose confirming the pick up. During the phone call, instead of telling me the time to pick up, I had to ask him before he hung up (uhaul had told me in several emails the pickup time was the whole reason for him to contact me). He told me pickup time would be at noon. I then asked if we couldn't pick it up at noon, would we have a problem. He said, that would be fine, as long as we picked it up before they close. The day of the pickup he called me to ask if we still planned on getting the uhaul. I assumed this was a follow up call and excitedly told him yes and we would be there closer to 3 when we got off from work. He said ok, thank you and that was the end of the conversation. When we arrived at the location to pick it up, he told us the pickup time was 8:30 a.m and because he hadn't heard from us all day, he gave our trailer away. The whole reason I made the reservation was to ensure we would have a trailer before we moved across the country. Now, here it is the day before we're supposed to leave and thanks to lies and terrible customer service, we now have to scramble to find something else. I've moved with uhaul every time I needed to move, whether across country or across town and never have I received such terrible customer service.

Better customer service. The man that helped me was very rude. Not only that didn't want to deal with us when the truck wouldn't start. Blamed it on us and said nothing he can do. I will never use uhaul again. I will be advising everyone I know to do the same and go with a competitor.

So an unexpected winter storm descended on CO during my use of the trailer. I picked up the trailer - under sunny skies with a clear 5-day forecast - for a round-trip to Denver and used it to haul furniture to Salida, about 150 miles away. On day #3, a sudden storm crushed the roadways with crazy ice. I called the local U-Haul center in Salida and asked about a price to simply drop the trailer off there, instead of hauling it empty back to Denver. They said I would pay the one-way difference in price, which was about $80. When I got to the center, there was a message from UHaul HQ that said I had signed a contract to return the equipment to Denver and I would have to pay TWICE the one-way delivery cost, adding more than $450 to the bill. I made sure the insurance was in place and drove the trailer - at great risk - back to Denver. Thing was sliding all over the place. Cars wrecked everywhere. It was a miracle I made it back to Denver without wrecking. I feel this was a punitive call by UHaul. I was happy to pay a fee for disrupting the planned drop-off, but to more than triple the cost of the entire rental - I paid $180 for the round-trip to Denver, in Salida they said "corporate" was demanding I pay $675 if I left the trailer there - seems arbitrary, poor business and just mean. The roads were ridiculous. It was a serious risk to your trailer to send me back out. And you lost extra money, which I was happy to pay to leave it in Salida. I can't understand that decision. The guys at Sanchez were great. Still, I won't use UHaul again.
