Service was outstanding! However, I reserved a van on-line and received the guaranteed reservation but on pickup, no van. I was given a rental truck, and modifications, but the truck was hard for me to drive, especially backing up - very difficult for me. Maybe give this site more than one van. Other than not liking the truck, the service was simply outstanding.

The pick up and drop off locations had no effect on my experience with U Haul. The problem I had was with a customer service agent that treated me abysmally absolutely hands-down the most atrocious disrespectful customer service experience I’ve had in my life I would rather carry my belongings on my back then rent another trailer from U Haul. The only thing that saved it was a manager that I spoke with following my horrible experience with customer service agent I spoke with her professionalism and understanding of how terribly I was treated went above and beyond

A reservation should actually mean that a truck is reserved for the date, time and location specified - this isn’t just a suggestion. Last minute huge changes really negatively affect people’s ability to move and get where they need to be.

The persons that took the reservations did know what they were doing - I was under the impression that if we rented local that the milage was free but were charged per mile from when we left the station, even though we were under the milage amunt

I would absolutely never recommend Uhaul to anyone and I will never use the service again. I was not informed, first of all, that my pickup location had been moved. When I went to the Pocasset location where I had been scheduled to pick up my booked van, the man informed me that it was not there. He made a tiny effort to be helpful, but ultimately I waited more than an hour -- while he made me wait again and again when he went to pump gas for new customers -- for him to resolve the issue and ensure that I was getting the rate that I had been guaranteed when I had booked more than 2 weeks previously. He was incredibly rude and ultimately said he would just cancel the contract. By that stage this was fine with me although my family and I had scheduled an entire day of moving. He berated me for abusing him as 'the messenger' while I was clearly only asking him to be responsible, as a member of the company that he represented (not to mention earns income from), for the miserable treatment I was receiving. After he cancelled the contract, I drove to the Wareham location where he had initially said my van was waiting. When I got there the contract had indeed been cancelled, but fortunately the van was still available. The woman there was very surprised that I had NEVER received notification from Uhaul that my pick up location was not Pocasset but Wareham. Finally, and honestly the last straw in a seriously awful experience, was that when I got in the van, it was only to discover that it absolutely STANK of cigarette smoke and I would have to spend the next 10 hours in the stink. I do not smoke and find the smell disgusting and sickening. All I can say is, NEVER AGAIN. I certainly hope that Uhaul at least reimburses me for the extra miles that I had to drive to get back and forth from Wareham, not to mention take some action in response to their employees appalling lack of customer service and professionalism.

My first time using a neighborhood location. I was concerned about getting a decent vehicle versus going to a regular full service location where there would be more options. Much to my surprise, it turns out that I had a fantastic truck. Great service too.

Brought my trailer back at 7 PM on Saturday. The clerk in the store didn’t want any of my paperwork and would not provide me with any type of receipt that the trailer was received. Additionally, they did not offer to assist me with the uncoupling of the trailer from my vehicle.

This was the worst disaster in renting a trailer we have ever been through #1 no communication 24 hrs ahead of time where to pick up trailer #2 wrong pick up time wrong day #3 wrong drop off time. #4 we wanted to pick up in a closer location but could not convince U-Haul phone expert that there was a trailer available at the place as the attendant at the place was visibly looking at the trailer the U-Haul phone person said no there was not a trailer there and we could not convince him otherwise so we had to drive several more miles to pick up a trailer #5 poor communication between U-Haul and pick up location

No UHaul employee was there when we arrived. When she showed up 30 minutes late she gave us a truck with a check engine light on. I spoke to the area sales manager who told me it is common to see the check engine light on because they do not do maintenance on the trucks when needed (Oil changes) so the light will be on but that shouldn’t be a problem. What? No way I am going to assume that is the problem and I wouldn’t drive it to another state even if that was! Awful customer service!
