Learn how to rent trailers to customers, because the person who rented us the equipment didn't know how to do their job we ended up paying more money than we were told. When I called customer service they were rude and told me it was my fault because I didn't check the paper work and that there was nothing they could do for me. They had the drop off location and the pick up location reversed as a result of that we were told we would be charged more.

The man there had no idea what he was doing. We were there for roughly an hour and a half and had to call U Haul three times to do his job for him. He had no clue what he was doing. Kept apologizing that he was on the wrong "platform" and it was all U hau'ls fault. Our reservation was not there. We reserved a larger truck and he only had a 10' truck. Every time we would almost get the transaction completed he would say it did not look right on his screen, complain about the "platform" and start again. I just started to believe this must be some sort of prank. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in any business. English was not his first language, so this entire time we were struggling to make out what he was saying. The establishment was a gas station. Every time a gas station customer came in we had to pause and let them finish their transactions.

U-Haul changed our pick-up location and even though I went online the day before and did all the "pre-check-in" stuff, it still took 30 minutes to get everything. And then then they didn't have the blankets we had ordered. The saving grace was that they were very polite.

Encourage the cashier to finish one thing at a time. He kept interrupting my getting the UHaul truck in order to take care of walk-in customers.

I reserved my rental in Sheffield, close to my home in Muscle Shoals. The day before I was to pick up my rental U-Haul changes my location to Florence!!!!!! Not what I wanted!!!!!!! Will have to think twice before I use uhaul again.

Most of the issues that took place were on the previous customer's end. The customer had no idea when he had to drop the truck off; therefore, my wait time to get the truck was right at 2 hours. This location is a gas station with a couple trucks and the owner is an authorized agent, but U-Haul is not his main job which makes the process more difficult. The U-Haul agent seemed overwhelmed and ill prepared for the situation. I feel as if U-Haul needs to implement a better tracking system for their trucks, so situations like this happen less often. I was not very pleased with the experience.

My only complaint with the vehicle was the ashtray was filled with cigarettes/ashes. I couldn't figure out how to remove to dump them out.

When I called the 800 number to make the reservation, I also included a reservation for some hand trucks. When I got to the pick up location, they said they didn't have any hand trucks for me. It was late on Xmas eve and we were loading the truck on Xmas day; if not for my in-laws having an old set of hand trucks, we would not have had a set to move the heavy appliances and furniture on Xmas day...since most all stores are closed all day on Xmas and most all of the other Uhaul stores had already closed by my pick up time at 7pm on 12/24. In addition, the pick up site had a lot of trouble inputting my reservation and payment method. I won't blame them entirely for this point because the charges finally went thru when I switched to a debit card I had on hand...which happened to have enough money in the account to cover the Uhaul charge. If I hadn't had that extra card, we would have had a difficult time paying for the rental that night because we were 400 miles away from our home where the other credit cards were located! One positive on the site was that they were opened much later than the other Uhaul sites in the area which allowed me to enjoy a later return time at the other location, but didn't allow me to run to one of the other Uhaul locations in the area to get a set of hand trucks. Also, the attendant was quite helpful, so I'm not saying their site was entirely bad...although I have never picked up a Uhaul at a liquor store before.
