this is a copy of the certified letter I sent to two managers at Uhaul: Mr. William Wolff, District Manager, Uhaul 168-23 Douglas Ave. Jamaica, NY 11433 AND Ms. Ree Mackenzie-Griffin, Location Manager, Uhaul Woodside 2645 Brooklyn Queens Expy W Woodside, NY 11377 September 19, 2017 Dear Mr. Wolff and Ms. MacKenzie, I can no longer count the number of messages I have left for both of you and Uhaul customer service since July, about the situation involving my account that grows increasingly bizarre and suspicious the longer you ignore my calls. As the condition of my belongings is in question, with no response from you, I have consulted my lawyer, who advised me to send this certified letter as a last resort before getting her involved, and the media. As you both already know from multiple messages, I was forced to move due to a disaster and store what remained of my belongings. On 6/23/17 I reserved a 5' x 5' x 8' room (reservation 802023-106789) at your Woodside location, and was told that you had availability on the ground level, so that the movers I hired would not have to lift items up stairs (extra $$). Moving and cleaning on 6/25/17 was an all day affair, at the end of which my movers and I were exhausted, hungry and stressed, and I was over budget to them by the hour. My first shock at your location, which your website lists as "Woodside" was that this was practically Astoria. A "Woodside" location was the #2 factor in choosing your facility over others. The advertised price of $94/month with the first month free was #1. This geography was extremely inconvenient, but at 4PM on a Sunday, there was no where else to go. The second shock was seeing the room that had been reserved for me was not 8' in height, but 6', not enough headroom for the single piece of my furniture I had gone out of my way to salvage. What then ensued was one of the more surreal moments in my recent past. Your employee searched a chart he was carrying for an available 5' x 5' x 8' room, and seemed mystified as to where to find one. He then ran me and my mover from one end of your giant facility (about 4 football fields long) to the other, back and forth, up and down stairs, snaking through endless corridors, looking at this and that room, all beyond my budget or the wrong size, starting in one direction, and when he'd consult his chart again, saying, "oops!" then doubling back to the location we just left. After the 5th lap around your immense facility, it seemed less than plausible that he could be this unfamiliar with your facility, or that the hundreds of rooms we passed were all full. When we were practically falling over from heat, hunger and exhaustion, your employee showed us several rooms on the "1st floor", which is not the first floor at all, but up a flight of stairs, that all have an approximately 18" diameter vent shaft running straight through the middle of them all, interfering with the dimensions

The location could have been advertised more as it is somewhat hidden by a gas station. However at least the employee was helpful and competent.

It's easy to order online. The car is in good condition and new. Unfortunately, technical maintenance is poor. There was a constant message to replace the oil. The car was not clean. But the price is very good - it's the main advantage.

Person behind the counter was not very informative.Could be because he was also pumping gas. Just handed me a piece of paper and said in broken English to bring the truck back with the same amount of fuel. Other than that, the truck was clean and fairly new.

This is not a good place to get a uhaul. Also, I wanted to point out that do not listen to the Uhaul online checking/pick up right away/ 50 guarantee stuff. Totally not applicable for this place. I booked my uhaul at 10am. I arrived a little bit late to give them some time to prepare my truck. I arrived around 10:15. I did not leave this place until 10:45 ish. Yes, just for check in, something I already register online. Very bad attitude. At least the car is clean. So thank you for giving me a new lesson.

Rude and Demanding Customer service Rep.Couldn't really understand what he was saying due to lack of English language knowlage. Insisted I rented the truck for 4 hours only even after I showed him my online confirmantion email multiple times. Threatened to cancel my Rental if I didn't bring it back before 1pm! Honestly I'd never use UHaul again after this experience and also I didn't get to the experience from the customer service rep I received when I called the 800# Sunday morning to ReRent the truck until Monday! Total lack of professionalism and manners towards me the customer!

I'm not at all satisfied... first the location that was guaranteed to me was not available by the time I was ready to rent. I had to pay a cab to go across town to get the truck. Second the location I did get the truck from informed me that the mileage was unlimited but when I turned in the truck early and fill the vehicle more than I got it to find out that I had to pay for what they say 18miles over the limit. I don't think I'll use U-Haul again as there are more moving companies out there cause I spent more than I intended and the service was not rendered correctly. Highly upset. Thanks for giving me a horrible experience

Have the person at the counter greet you say welcome to U-Haul and get off the phone while you're standing in front of him while he's processing your credit card and then when it was due back by 12 noon he calls me at eight in the morning And says he has people waiting for the van

I was soo very happy that I found a uhaul center close to my home bc I use it every year however, I was charged for an additional day/rental that I did not use !! I called to put a claim in & they are handling it , nothing has be refunded yet but its only been 40hrs since I called, & "most locations have video surveillance anyway", & to give 72 hrs til someone either contacts me or to receive an email.. so we will see . Other than that van was brand new & HAD a BACKUP CAMERA , everything worked ! There was alot of dirt in the cargo area but a broom handled that just fine ! I always return clean but some people DONT !!
