the drop off address was incorrect, when I arrived I was re-directed to the new location

I went to drop off the truck at this location and was advised that I had to go to another location (Victoria Street). I'm not sure why as there were already 3 UHaul trucks in the Esso parking lot. It was difficult to find the key drop box at the second location as it is not very well marked.

Guelph Esso/York location was disappointing! We arrived ready to return truck and keys by 10 PM, but were told to bring truck to Speedvale location. There is NO DROP BOX at any location in Guelph and only the Esso/York location had any person there! We finally drove back to Esso/York and really had to argue to return the truck after wasting over an hour looking for a drop box all over Guelph after Esso/York refused to take the keys. Very badly organized at that end! VERY frustrating. Thank you.

The process of getting the rental took so long - the agent was also working the gas bar and we found this a lot longer than necessary.

We were well attended. The customer service was great.

Location is not very user friendly. When you enter you get greeted from a sign which says Esso customer comes first before U-Haul, so every time a customer entered the person leaved to serve the customer. She had no information about where the truck was going ( maybe standard?) Entered the city in the states instead of in Canada. I didn't receive or sign any papers, because there were not able to print as they were out of ink.I would not like to pick up a truck again at this location.

i returned the truck 2 hours post a 24 hour sign in, i was informed I'd have to pay for additional day of service. I called the U Haul number to speak with a rep and the conversation went as follows:Me- Please help me understand why I have to pay for an additional day, U-Haul rep Debbie:Well what time is it? Me: It's almost 1pm U-Haul Debbie: Well that's why and i can't help you..... This is what U-Hual considers customer service?? Good thing there are lots of options when it comes to renting and I'll be sure to NEVER use U-Haul again as well as ensure everyone I know hears the great customer service story from U-Haul.

I had a friend drive the truck, and he initialized the gas tank level. After returning, the cashier asked me if I "filled it yet"? So I said no, was that a requirement.... he politely said, "yes, you need to fill it", so I backed the truck into the station and began to pump. And pump. I pumped almost 40 dollars before calling it as my round-trip was 45 km. Essentially, they don't give you a truck filled with gas... they have our mark where the line is to indicate gas levels. I paid close to $100 for the 4 hour rental, and after telling me I would be refunded, I was not. Owners orders. They even have a sign posted from management advising esso clients will receive first attention. I waited 10 min for some guy with a million lotto tickets. Anyway, point being is that both esso and uhaul post the business of my family and friends as well as me. Sure... the owner made a few hours of my pay by having a super nice young employee contradict himself. No refund... paid almost 38 dollars for 45km of gas. I am planning to contact uhaul headoffice including essos to expose this type of business practice, if it is in face a corporate policy. My next step is the BBB.

I went to pick up the key for my UHaul Truck and it took 40 minutes before I received it. The computer was malfunctioning. The clerk finally had to call UHaul office for guidance. At the same time there was a constant flow of customers coming in to pay for their gas purchases which interrupted the work he was doing for me. When the computer finally accepted my information and he printed my receipt, it was the wrong receipt. It belonged to another person so I left without my receipt because I had another appointment to get to. I came into the Station at 4:40pm and left at 5:20pm. Forty minutes to pick up a key. I was totally frustrated and will think twice about renting from UHaul again. Gary

Hi there: My name is Stephen Price. I have used uhual many times! And I have documention of such.. never a problem. Till this round; This uhual service is absoluetly unjustified and unpleasant. I am extremely displeased and personally violated by this entire service since the start. I have been using uhual many times, never a problem. On the first of this month I rented a uhual and the pick up location was changed.. without nptifity me.. when I got there. So, happily and understandingly, I went there only to go to another location. THEN when doing the paperwork and the new location, the man had no idea how to fill out the forms... I had to call the uhual customer service on HIS phone to fill it out proper cuz the guy couldn't? Weird... like, actually not even service. I served myself. Furthermore, the back of the van has hamster wood chips and pee in it, and the wheel barring was off... my brother (a truck driver with all valid liscensing) was actually worried about the van safety. I was upset, although still optimistic once I moved my stuff in and dropped the van off, trying to forget the expirence and keeping to myself. However, That's when this happened. And it is the straw that broke the camels back. I GOT CHARGED FOR GAS WHEN I FILLED IT UPP. I has specifically detoured to a gas station to do so. I have photo documentation of the gas gage AT drop of. I had also called the 999 danforth location (who were the people who charged me) and he guy wouldn't even let me explain. Saying I'm rude and he doesn't want to hear it... I'm so livid about this conversation. I understand he may be stressed, but I have to explain! That's communication! What the heck? The conversation wasn't going anywhere, and the call was disconnected. He further called back saying he heckled the gage (cuz the car hasn't been moved) and it looks right but he won't reverse the charge because I hung up and was rude... however he said he wouldn't help me! Also, if the truck wasn't moved and the gage wasn't checked, why was I charged? Seriously though why? Why was I charged only for him to check and see it's right? This is just crazy terrible service, and it's not your fault I know, however, all of this silliness and mistakes have add up to an immensely sour, sour feeling and taste. I expect the gas charge to be reversed, that's all. Even though I feel this entire transaction should be reimbursed.. due to the fact that I did all the work, had safety and health concerns about the vehicle, and I was violated finachially and emotionally the entire time. However, I respect that people need to be paid. Matt, the rude customer service agent, is the largest man at fault. The only person to apologize was the very first woman at the first pick up location, and Susan. Thank you Susan. Hope to hear back soon

My uhaul door was frozen shut and the man renting the uhaul did not know how to rent it. He struggled with the simple entering of my information into the system. It would have been simpler to go directly through uhaul customer service.

It took me 45 minutes to check this vehicle out, even though I had pre-booked it. There was not line up. That was 45 minutes of my time with a vendor that clearly did not understand the system they were using. It was cumbersome and my information had to be re-input at least three times. My credit card was swiped 3 times and manually input twice. In the end they had to call the central office to process my pickup over the phone. And while I was there I overheard them tell another client that even though they were there before other people that gas pump clients took priority over U-haul clients. This person only wanted to return a furniture dolly.
