The app didn’t work so pickup was time consuming and we had to use the station attendant to pick up. There was no drop box to return the truck, so we had to return when the station was open, which meant an extra trip and great inconvenience to meet our return time. However the station had longer hours then most, so until the app is stable it is the only real option. I will be looking into other companies though.

The van was extremely dirty in both the cab and back with a strong odour. Spilled drinks in cab and a lot of debris in back. Very disappointed. I was moving my daughter and we had had to arrange boxes to keep her mattress off the dirt.When returning the vehicle I commented on this and he didn't seem to care

Went through the hassle of reserving a van online. Took the bus to pick it up, and was refused, because I didn't have the original credit card I booked with. I understand this is to prevent fraud, but if there was a notice online that said you MUST have the original credit card, it'd make it VERY convenient for people such as myself who do not own a credit card. I had to bus back to my house to get it, which was a pain. Sales clerk provided absolutely no instructions regarding the van/procedures/locations of important documents. It's kind of frightening how easily they just hand everything over. Van had to be returned to the location that I picked it up at, which was a further hassle, because I then needed a ride BACK to where I had just moved to. If there was an option to return it at the city you were moving to, that'd be great.

I picked up the truck at an Esso station in Guelph, ON, and the guy didn't know anything about U-Haul.

I tried using the self check-in option, which took much longer than anticipated and required more steps than indicated by the instructions online prior to pick-up. There was an issue for me finding a contact who would answer the phone at the time I was checking in, so I attempted to check-in inside the store instead, but soon found out that the system in the store was down. The clerk suggested I go to another location that was 2.5 kilometers away, but I did not have a vehicle and it was very very hot outside. Since my online check-in had already been cancelled, my only other option was to make another reservation and go through the steps again. All in all it took me over an hour from start to finish to check out the vehicle. I was not very pleased with the online system, nor with the option in the store regarding their system being down.

While I understand the convenience of a Haul location there, the service station is busy with gas customers and the conflict of having to complete the UHaul processes showed.

The van I rented was very dirty and had a disgusting smell when I picked it up. I was told the tank was full when I picked it up, but it cost over $15 to fill it again before returning it even though I only drove 30km However, the people working at the gas station were very friendly

The customer service lady at Esso was really nice and helpful, but I had reserved a cargo van with a dolly, and upon arrival, I was told there was no dolly. I had to drive 4km to the other place to grab a dolly, an extra 9 to go home, and drop the dolly off again at the other location, causing a total of an extra 21kms simply to drop the dolly off at another location.
