The trailer door was open in the rain and I had to dry out the inside floor. The manager did not offer to help but did supply the paper towels.

The clerk was eating lunch (2pm) and watching Tv when I arrived. Gave me the trailer number and pointed to where the trailer was parked. The trailer wasn’t there. The clerk then pointed to another location on the lot. It wasn’t there either. I drive through the whole rental/storage lot and the trailer wasn’t there. I provide a trailer number of one of the trailers on the lot and requested that one (6x12). The trailer was parked in gravel and on a slight slope. I wasn’t able to lift the tongue. When I returned to the office to cancel the reservation the clerk said she would help after she finish with another customer that just came in for propane. I went back to the trailer and was able move it enough to free up the wheels so I was able to lift the tongue. I connect the trailer and left. This was the fifth trailer I’ve rented in the past 6 weeks and the only time the representative didn’t assist me after signing the rental agreement.

It is a good thing that I will not be moving again anytime soon because my recent experience with U-Haul was horrible. I had originally reserved online a 26 foot truck, two dollies, and auto transport. I had requested to pick up in Soddy Daisy TN (All Care Storage) and drop off in Hixson TN on Ashland Terrace. Had I not looked at my online account to see if I could remove the auto transport myself I would’ve never known that my pick up location had changed. So I called the number and spoke with a gentleman named Doug, who was super helpful, found me a different location in Dayton TN (Dave’s Small Engine Repair) to pick up and remove the auto transport for me. The problems started the day we were supposed to pick up (Saturday Sept 1 @ 0800).. we arrived at the pick up location at 8 AM on the dot. When 830 rolled around and still no one was there we called the number on the email as well as the number on the door. No one ever answered. So I called the 800 number for U-Haul and was put on a 37 minute hold and then hung up on. I called back and was transferred four times, all of which to the wrong department. I called for a third time and luckily got to the correct department and by coincidence spoke to Doug again. He found me yet another location to pick up from (Ark Care Storage) and we were able to get in touch with this new location to have a friend pick up the truck for us since he was close by and we were almost an hour away. By this point we are already lost close to two hours of our move time dealing with pick up issues. The lady I spoke to at this new location said that they would have everything ready and waiting for our friend and have the truck and our equipment pulled around. When our friend picked it up he was told to just bring the truck back to them instead of our original drop off location and that they had already taken care of changing that information...without our say so I might add. The two drop off locations were only about 10 miles from each other so that really wasn’t an issue. The issue came in with the fact that this location closed two hours before our selected drop off location and we didn’t authorize the change. Also, when we finally got all the way back up to sale Creek TN (our starting location) we realized they in fact did Not give us the dollies we rented so I called and had those removed and was given a refund. Finally we were able to get moved and took the truck back to the place we picked up from but they’d closed the gates five minutes early. It wouldn’t have been a problem except for the fact that our personal vehicle was inside the gate. Truck was extremely noisy and vibrated a lot. The storage area leaked in the rain, luckily not too bad and nothing ruined. Had low expectations but expected ride to be more comfortable than it was.

Better customer service. My first truck didn’t start was sent to another location. Wasteing my time. Order wasn’t transferred correctly so I didn’t get my Dolly. The office girl was unwelcomeing in her personality never asked if I needed anything like a Dolly to help move. When I called about it they told be it wasn’t their problem. Won’t use them again.
