Reservation was set up wrong and as internet pickup. Showed up at 6pm at closing and nice lady at location fixed it. Very unhappy with reservation clerk and misinformation given!

The temporary office for the pick up location was in a box crate, the office equipment appeared outdated and the slow internet access delayed the process. The employee then charged the credit card on file, when I asked to charge a different one. The employee blamed the slow internet. Then there were no dollies that I requested on the reservation. The truck itself was filthy on the inside - peanut shells on the floor and drink stains around the cup holders. When dropping off my items at my storage unit, the truck battery died. While jumping the truck myself with assistance from another vehicle, I attempted to request roadside assistance online, via the app and a browser and the site would not function - this was attempted on an iPhone, android device, a MacBook, and PC based laptop. I proceed to call the roadside assistance number, I was on hold for half an hour before I hung up. After waiting to be helped for so long it was 9:45pm, I was forced to leave the truck unattended at the storage facility because the gate is locked both going in and and out at 10pm. My belongings were left behind with the risk of being towed, because I could not get in contact with ANYONE from UHaul. I went home and finally got assistance via live chat around 11:30pm, this has been the only effective way to get any assistance. Roadside assistance was eventually scheduled for 6am, when the gate access opens. I was told I would be contacted by a service provider in the morning, around 5:30am. In the morning, I had to call customer service at 6:30 to initiate the service provider being contacted and dispatched. Roadside assistance jumped the truck and recommended that I leave the car running at all cost. The truck was left running until returned. By the end of my experience with Uhaul, I am a day behind because I could not complete moving as scheduled due to the faulty equipment. My newborn had to sleep on the floor. I left a message with the rental location and they could not even return my call as a courtesy! I only received a $60 refund, and I do not think I'm being unreasonable when I expect the remaining to be refunded as soon as possible.

This truck's condition caused us to have a miserable trip! The heater was stuck in the wide-open on position and would NOT change! We called every number on the truck before we left Houston and wasted half a day trying to get someone on the phone! No answer ever! Had a mechanic look at it and he said the relays had been taken off the truck. Then, in the middle of the night, the check engine light came on. We had no choice but to go on because we were miles from any city.

Training employees. There were charges on my receipt that could not be explained. Although he found out what they were he could not refund them. I was told I have to wait until Monday.

The van really had a bad smell of stale cigarettes. I was grateful we were only moving a short distance, as I could not deal with the smell for more than 5 mins and definitely did not want that smell getting on my furniture.

Went above and beyond to help us as Hurricane Harvey victims;) He literally saved the day!


It was not the locations fault, it was uhaul's idiocracy! I reserved a nearby location, specifically looking on the map, and my mileage was going to be 1.5 mile. But frikking uhaul, changed my reservation without notifying me to a 12 mile round trip location. Which wasted my plus 50 minutes in Houston traffic and gas and labor... I am not planning to work with uhaul again unless they make up this. You charge by mile and give a car at a far location, this is full brain damaged action... The guy called me and only part I understood was "your truck is ready to be picked up at 4" and i said yes. I went to my initial location, lady says "she is not uhaul" what the f*ck are you then! She said there is no other trucks available even though I saw 3 in the lot! I called other two nearby locations... Anyway a full headache! especially you get out of work, arrange people to carry stuff and be late an hour! Planning to post this on my 1.7 million view google + and facebook accounts, also will write reviews on all these locations unless you make this up!!!
