The truck was great. The service at my location was horrible. Opted for the mobile check out option because I figured it would be easier. When I went to return my truck at the contracted time I ran into problems. There was no drop box for the keys and the location was closed. Not sure what to do, I locked up the truck and called the 1800 number and was on hold for almost a half hour on site. I had to leave but stayed on the phone until my call was answered . The only option available was to return the keys the next day when the location was open. I was told the owner would call me back within 6-8 hours to discuss reimbursement for my time and gas required to return the keys. I never got a call. When I returned the truck and explained the situation, the owner was combative and tried to charge me for random black marks(not even scratches) on the truck. I explained that I already took pictures of the vehicle before and after I returned and that the vehicle had been sitting in the lot for almost 24 hours. He was agitated and kept telling me to just go. Horrible location and owner!!!

The windshields were full of bird droppings and driver side door won’t close unless you slammed it very hard. But the worst is I was told they close at 4pm and my return was scheduled to return at 6pm. The person at Lube Shop told me to return next day before 24 hrs is up and is same price. I was charged for 2 days including insurance. I sent email twice asking correction but no response.

As a16year military member it’s Kind of disheartening that there’s not even an option for any sort of military discount or even a attempt to give some kind of discount for active duty service members. And be pushed onto the next drop off area so they don’t have to help a veteran is kind of disheartening and sad, when I know all of my active duty buddies have one time in another used U-Haul as their primary service.

it will nice that the manager running this location will be aware of potential customers when we arrive. He owns a lube shop and he seems to pay more attention to that location. Had a pick up time of 9:00am 6/29/19, I showed up at 8:45 the same morning and I was just waiting for somebody to open the location since business hours say 9 to 2 pm on saturdays. 9 am came up and no signs of nobody opening but at the same time they were people already working in the lube shop even the manager. I waited 15 min and still no signs of nobody opening the uhaul place. So I decided to ask the manager from the lube shop if somebody was going to open the uhaul location, it was 9:20am already and all he answer was “that the place had a different owner. So I left to the other location located in indio ca hwy 111, when I got there I told the lady in the counter that I already had a reservation for 9 am at the other location by the lube shop and told her nobody was there, so she called and they answer saying they were there, so I head back it was 10 am and hour had gone by from my 9am pick up time, when I get back to the lube shop location in indio ca it turns out that the same guy that told me that the other location was ran by another owner, was they guy y ask about the uhaul location and he took care of me then, but no when I ask prior to that. so finally get my rental about an hour later, when he give me my paperwork and keys he tells me to throw the keys behind the wall of his lube shop and that the cameras will caught me leaving keys and the time, when I get my bill shows being charge for 2 days with a total of 124 dlls what a dissapointment, only used 7 miles and left the truck with same gas given. will not recommend this location poor management. not organized at all.

Everything was as expected with this rental except the contract mileage did not match the starting mileage on the truck. I took a picture of the odometer (with the U-Haul building in the background) before I left the lot but the person checking me in (when I came back) could care less. Sure it was only .9 miles, but the principal of the matter was almost rude. Stating the mileage was on the contract and he did not make any effort to correct it, explain why he was not going to even entertain my concern. They are so detail oriented when checking out the truck making sure very scratch is documented, I would expect the same attention to detail on the contract specifics (like mileage, since I get charged "by-the-mile"). If I need to rent again, I will find another location.

This was a disaster, after a four day drive from Seattle to Palm Springs, CA. I was told I could drop of the 26' truck and car carrier at any U-Haul location, The Lube Shop happened to be the closest to our location. I was hardly greeted when I arrived, the manager I dealt with was rude and asked "why I was bringing equipment to his location". He told me to move the truck and back the car carrier up to the fence to unhook it myself. Then he said I owed $70 for fuel, however the gauge was pretty close to where it was when we picked it up. He also charged us an extra day, however the cause of the extra day was due to the car carrier breaking an axle and us being stranded in the middle of nowhere on the side of I-5 at 11pm. on New Years Eve. We had to rent a hotel room $161.00 while we waited for a new car carrier to be delivered to the hotel ( that was really appreciated). This manager was talking with his workers and not giving me the time of day, so my wife and I just drove away. FYI

Very unhappy with the serevice I recieved at the lube shop. There was only one authorized attedent at the location and he had no clue what he was doing and I can barely understand what he was saying Both check in and check out took over 40 mins each time around. When I made the reservation I was under the impression that I could pick up with my mobile phone but this location didn’t have the appropriate accomadtions that were stated to be provided. I had to search for help and when I finally got the help I needed it was pointless because the guy ( owner of the shop ) had no idea how to work through the system. After much frustion he finally called another store for help. Over 10 minutes later he finally got it together. Before leaving the owner stated that I would have return the vechile tommorow before 2;40 whch was the time he finished checking me out. My reservation was made for 2:00pm to 12:00 am but since this location had no drop nor key lock boxes I was forced to bring it the following day per owner request. My storage location closes at 6pm and requires you to be out of the building by 5:55pm. I already had a forty minute delay and was forced to rush my move . I called the next day to turn in the truck after work and was told he was unavailable called again and was told to call back in an hour because he was out lunch . I shouldn’t be forced to rearrange my schedule for someone who can’t be there. After finally Getting that call that I can come in and turn in . Came in and brought in the truck and I had not filled the truck the preagreed amount of gas that was stated. I had already had too many things going on and just didn’t have time . I was more than willing to pay for the refueling fees that wouldve occurred and told told this to the owner but reperminded me not having the gas agreed and being late. Yes the gas was my fault and I was willing to pay for that but being is something that I shouldn’t be held responsible for when someone can’t even be bothered to be there. I was already late for my next appointment but he didn’t give me an option and told the shell was across the street. Took me less than five minutes to be back and the owner was missing after searching for him he was in his office and made me wait till he finished . He re did the check in process and informed that I was going to be charged 90. When I asked why so much I was already charged for the reservation . Because you were late . Which I felt unfair because I had to cater to his schedule The only additional charges I was expecting to pay was any additional mileage since I refueled myself. My payment was declined and was belittled for it. I was not expecting an additional charge of 90 + therefore could not have planned for it. Forced to wait until he could figure things again . I had people waiting on me. He ended calling someone for help continued to wait for 10 plus until he figured it out . After getting the final receipt I’ve tells me to be here

The person who helped me check the truck back in refused to give me a receipt after asking for one. He said UHaul corporate would email me one... I wasn't happy because he said I owed $6+ for gas shortage and I didn't like that I had no documentation to go by. He could have later charged me more. After an arduous move last thing I needed was to not be able to count on UHaul representative to do their work. Thankfully corporate office helped me and also waived the $6+ when I called.
