trailer fender and light was damaged, guy didn't know how to validate my vehicle, handed me his laptop and had me try to figure it out. did not have wire for lighting, had to call service to have it delivered. passenger ratchet mechanism was worn out or damaged and seemed unsafe. no one to help hook up trailer. gas station should not be doing u haul business.

UHaul, I am sad to report that we had a horrible experience for the first time using you guys. This is in regards to master order number: 21039221, on 3/31/2018. I scheduled a pick up in Manhattan, IL. online, for return to Aurora. We usually always pick up and drop off here at the Aurora site, but we were picking up some plants in Manhattan, and to save the full 2nd trip we decided to pick up in Manhattan. We were given the address of: Tedds Custom Installation, 21719 S Center Ave, New Lenox, IL. 60451. (815)-485-2611. This was fine since it was about a 6-minute trip up to Manhattan from there. When we reached the site, the door was locked. We got there at 11am. Someone (Tedd) finally answered and he said “oh, well we’re closing early today so….?” But then continued to assist with the pickup in a very annoyed fashion. They closed at 1pm today, so I’m not sure how 11am meant 1pm? Then he said “we don’t have a 10ft truck, only a van or a pickup truck is available”. I said “that’s ok I’ll take the truck”. He then said “oh wait, you’re dropping off in Aurora? I can’t do that”. He then proceeded to call UHaul to confirm, and lost his place in line on the call multiple times, because he kept hanging up to take other calls. I was there for 38 minutes while he screwed around trying to figure it out. Finally, he said I needed to go to this site: I80 Mobile Inc. 1600 New Lenox Road, Joliet IL. 60433, 815-722-3540. So, I went there to get the 10 ft truck, a 16-minute drive from Tedds. At I80 Mobile Inc. the man was much nicer and more pleasant than Tedd, but even there it took him 27 minutes to finally get it done. He never showed me the truck or checked anything, he just gave me the keys after I waited for what seemed like an incredibly long time, and I was given the truck with ¼ tank of gas?!?! Also, it smelled/smells ripe of wet dog, and there are/were dog hairs absolutely everywhere, and the steering wheel is/was sticky….. I have to say, I am truly disappointed. We made a mess of dirt in the bed but everything was cleaned, even the wheels. I did go through some tolls on the way back and I am paying for those with my iPass account online. At a bare minimum, I would like the $50 guarantee back since the first place didn’t have the truck I needed, and I had to wait and drive to get this all figured out. Over an hour of my time wasted because your rental sites are completely disorganized. To be honest, I think after the multiple times I’ve now rented from you guys, and plan to continue in the future – I think this time around should be credited back to me in full. It was a truly pitiful experience. I will be sending this letter to your corporate headquarters and any other locations onsite and online that I can find, demanding this rental be free of charge due to my terrible experience.
