The pick up was fast and easy at an easy to find location. Only issue was receiving no notification that I was getting a smaller vehicle than I had reserved. This resulted in needing the truck for an extra day and doubling the amount of trips needed to complete my move. A call or email about getting a smaller truck could have helped me plan accordingly.
I am very troubled with U-Haul since I rented specifically a 15ft truck in advance, they (corporate/website) told me where it was available and at pick up time I'm told that they changed my reservation to a 10ft truck (NO ramp!): that's False Advertisement, bate and switch, carelessness or else. Not even an advanced notice. It caused 2 hrs delay to start the job, loss in employee time, an extra trip and double millage. The $50 guarantee rebate (I'm waiting for it) does not pay all the losses it caused. Why not tell me the truth when I was making the reservation, the location and availability of the specifc requested equipment? Corporate, I have been using U-Haul for over 20 yrs,you blew it! Is this part of your MO?

This location rents u-haul and tools. They close at 3 pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday, so I was unable to properly return the rental. Currently they are closed the week of 2/24 for vacation. On a separate note the u-haul location.verification didn't work, therefore I was charged an additional fee.

Having more 20 foot trucks because it's hard to get one. There only few ones. I had it hard time to get one. I called 7 uhaul companies, and no one had it.

The first truck that was issued to us was a big piece of crap. Rear door broke and wouldn't open. We had to drive 60+ miles to get the door open to get our stuff out. We spent over 8 hours just trying to get door open. Numerous calls for roadside assistance, lost calls, long wait times, I had to take the next day off of work to rent another truck to finish moving. Then we were told that they would refund me the charge of the truck but had to charge me for new truck even though it wasn't our fault truck was broken. I never expect anything for free but this rental experience was the absolute worst. Days, hours and patience wasted. We even had to spend an extra day at our apartment because we weren't moved out by the 1st. We spent a lot more money because of their broken truck they issued me. We will not be using Uhaul again. We could have saved a lot of time and money by just taking multiple trips with our car and truck but figured it would be less of a hassle to rent a Uhaul and make one trip. Wrong! Never again!!

Don't issue broken trucks!!! I spent over 8 hrs dealing with a broken rear door that wouldn't open after we loaded the whole truck. Multiple calls to customer service, multiple calls for roadside assistance after calls "dropped", multiple agents, multiple attempts to get door open finally got home at 9pm and went to open rear door in the morning, broken again, a different part. Absolutely rediculous!! People on the phone were plesent but service was terrible!! And after all this, I was still charged for the truck. More of a headache to rent truck than to just pack my car and make multiple trips. Never again!!!!
The rental locations are excellent. U-haul is the problem. I make a reservation online for a specific rental and it is confirmed by U-haul. The day before pick-up every time I rent from U-haul, I receive a phone call from U-haul that my reservation is being modified or cancelled. There is no point on making a reservation with U-haul. They are capable of taking the reservation, they just haven't learned how to "hold" the reservation I request for my needs. These review questions are asking the wrong questions. The U-haul rental location is trying to work with the customer, but U-haul is actively working against the rental location and the customer. It isn't fair to rate the rental location due to U-haul's poor first come, first served mentality when a reservation is in theory supposed to hold a request for a specific needed rental. Renter beware.

It is truly a crying shame that corporate treats my local dealer like garbage. I can and have walked there from my house, yet reserving online OR by phone through corporate, they would have me drive over an hour away to get my vans. Now I make my reservations in person to avoid the hassle.
