Tremendous staff! They assisted me with removing my vehicle from the trailer. The front end of my car wouldn't clear the trailer - so I could back off. I was told this was a common problem which should have been addressed when I picked the trailer up in McKinney Texas.

From the start, the computer systems were unable to load the information needed for me to rent the trailer quickly, there was no point in paying early and doing the paperwork online when no time was saved. I'm glad I know how to attach a trailer to a vehicle, because I had no help doing so. The trailer itself was covered with black ants on the outside and inside, I thought I was renting an ant colony with wheels. So I had to buy spray to kill all the ants, which took a lot, then I had to spray out the trailer with fresh water, because who want poison on all their personal items? Next, 100 miles into our trip, the trailer hitch decided it didn't want to hang out with our vehicle ball anymore, and divorced itself, leading to a rapid deceleration and forced stop of the tow vehicle and trailer. Luckily I was able to reattach the two and provide enough counseling to keep them together long enough to get to our new home.

I initially called a customer service number located in/near Norfolk VA while trying to locate availability of the needed unit. The information I was provided by the representative requiring me to book a reservation in order to identify if an acceptable pick-up location was available was ridiculous. The agent's direction created more confusion than assistance. I proceeded on my own initiate on-line and on the phone to confirm availability at acceptable location before reserving by credit card. Customer assistance could be improved at regional control office.

No one explained that I would have to pick up my truck at one location and pick up the tow dolly at another location. The location which I picked up my tow dolly was physically incapable of lifting the dolly because they were 86 years old. I'd like a discount on this transaction do too having to go to multiple locations and having to do the work myself. Also the place I picked the truck up didn't have a dolly for moving boxes so I had to lift all my boxes with out the equipment I requested.

The overall online reservation experience for Uhaul was terrible. However, what made it worthwhile was the exceptional service from Zach at Majestic Auto. He was wonderful. I reserved a 15' truck & 36 blankets. Blankets were essential, as we were moving cabinetry that could easily be scratched. We had a long day of packing, travel, then unpacking but planned a 24 hour turnaround. First, the truck pickup location was changed and I was never notified about it. The original location opened 2 hours earlier (8 am) than the new location (10 am), which was important with packing and a long drive ahead of us. It was only by me calling the original location to confirm (my choice, not an online recommendation) that I found out about the location change. In addition, there were only 6 blankets available at the new location. Zach called multiple nearby locations and was thankfully able to locate additional blankets. This process, however, took over an hour once I got there to pick up the truck. Finally, I was not given an option online to drop the truck off on a Sunday, though I knew I would be done with the truck on Saturday. I was under the false impression that the Sunday dropoff was not available because shops were closed on Sundays. In full disclosure, I did not follow up to see if this was the case - I merely made the assumption. I was charged for Sunday's rental. For personal convenience, I planned to drop the truck "early" on Sunday and bring the keys by on Monday. When I got to the destination Uhaul shop, they were open and accepted the truck and the keys, but could not reduce my rental fee by the day because the pricing is set up front and not by the individual shops. Overall, I was very displeased with the online reservation process, though the people were fabulous on both ends and the truck worked just fine.
