This site was an accident waiting to happen! No UHAUL SIGN posted! There was no one at the site! We had to go online, find the phone number and then get the code to open the electronic gate. Meanwhile, there is nearly no room without the backend of the rental truck sticking out almost on to WADE ROAD. So where does the person picking you up park without being act risk with moving traffic? They posted their hours and stated they may not be there. Frustrating! My daughter followed me to pick me up but you could not park safely! Feel free to contact me with any questions!

I originally signed up to rent from a full service location. I was told there were moving blankets in the truck. There was one. Not really what I was expecting. Otherwise, truck was fine.

Drop off in Latham had no uhaul sign and no access to drop off without code to get through gate. Fortunately we reached uhaul rep to give us code.

I didn't like that he young kid behind the counter wrote my credit card number down on the sheet of paper that he copied my license on. Who knows who will see that information once I leave. He could do a little online shopping if he wanted to. He had everything he needed to drain my account. Or it could simply blow away or get lost. Number two, I received no receipt at all once I dropped the van off. He just gave me a "you're all good". The whole thing was shady if you ask me. This is why I usually rent directly from a Uhaul location where there's a credit card swiper. I wanted to save myself a few miles so I rented closer but probably won't do it again. I feel like I should be checking my bank account for the next couple weeks.

Uhaul needs to contact drop off locations before drop off so the drop off location is aware.

My initial reservation was for the pickup of a van at 736 New Loudon Rd. Latham New York 12110. Scheduling failed to notify the business of the reservation apparently this pickup location is not manned normally. I had to call a phone number to get a hold of someone. I was unable to pick up from that location at the appointed time of my reservation. I was promised the $50 guarantee since I was unable to pickup my reserved uhaul vehicle at the reservation time. The customer service representative called the operator of the location and was told that someone 5 minutes away to open the location. I waited 30 minutes after that and still no one showed up. I called customer service again who transferred me to scheduling to arrange for a different pickup location. I have since sent a email asking about the $50 guarantee and I am hesitant about recommending Uhaul to any friends do to poor communications both via phone/email/text, and the poor communication between scheduling and the operator of the initial site. The second site provided excellent service and had me on my way. However, I took off from work to complete a move so the lost of time for the delay can not be recovered and Uhaul needs to understand a customer service is extremely important and that a single break in communication within the organization and customer can lead to loss revenue in the future.
