We will no longer use U-haul for our future services after today's experience. First we had issues getting the rental from the place we rented from. I did call in to U-Haul and the customer service lady helped us out. We get the car hauler then we returned it today to get a nasty attitude from the gentleman for calling U-Haul customer service for our rental pick up issue. He informed us today he will probably lose his UHaul contract over this and the whole $5. And some odd cents. Then said to us that â€œthe reason a lot of guys don't have uhaul dealerships is because of people like you. I'm sorry to sayâ€ I told him I would be calling into U-Haul and he said not to because it would create more problems. Never in my rentals with UHaul have I ever experienced such poor customer service. He was really upset about me calling into customer service but we had a reservation and I understand his internet may have been down but I was told by another UHaul location that it could have been called into his uhaul representative to finalize. He originally did not offer for my husband to still pick the rental up when he called him directly. He did once I got him on the phone and said I had the 50.00 reservation guarantee. He had just said it wouldn't be legal because he couldn't do any of the paperwork and he was not at the store. My husband is an over the road driver and driver examiner and he will NOT do anything that could possibly be illegal and jeopardize his job.Joseph B.
The price I ended up paying was higher than the price I was quoted. At the time I made the reservation, i was promised a 10 percent reduction but didn't get it. I had to drive approximately 15 miles to get the truck size I needed. Overall, my experience with UHaul was a good one.barry S.
