Truck we respected wasn’t available. Location we reserved was changed without notifying us. Owner of place where we were sent wasn’t helpful. We were given a $25 credit from U-Haul and that credit was not active when we checked out so we could t use it. Not a good experience.

On line business hours stated 9 pm closing on Saturday, 10/13. We showed up at 8:45 and he was gone. Unfortunately, we did not leave keys in drop box and returned on Sunday only to find out he opened until 12 pm. At that time, then we left keys. I wanted to get receipt right then and there. Will keep that in mind for future business. Thanks.

Dear sir or mam, I had originally decided to not write a review on my recent uhaul experience. But since you asked, I will give my honest opinion. First of all I’m not very happy about the charges, I feel that I was overcharged by approximately 35 dollars. When I originally placed my reservation online I found a uhaul agent that was very close to the place that I actually needed the uhaul (to move a vehicle that I had purchased) I rented a 10’ truck and vehicle trailer. I was quoted ~250 dollars which I felt was fair. So then the day before I actually was to pick up the uhaul I get a text from a uhaul center that said my order had been move to a uhaul approximately 30 miles away From where I needed it. I did some quick math and realized that my original quote with the original miles may not work, so I called uhaul’s toll free number and was put in contact with the uhaul distributor at the location that I was to pick up the rig. He assured me that I didn’t need to involve uhaul, that he “would make it right, he said don’t worry I will take care of you” . I went to his location to pick up the rig and he tells me he’s adding 50 miles to my contract for free so that I don’t have to worry about the difference in miles from my original quote. I agree even though that would still be at least a couple extra gallons of gas on my part. After all this he tells me that he’s giving me a 30 Dollar credit to my account because the truck is on empty. And I needed to bring it back at 1/4 tank. So what was actually happening is that I paid the original quoted price of 250 something and then I would obviously pay for the fuel I need for the job , plus an extra 1/4 tank of fuel which by my estimation is around 35 dollars. So instead of the original quoted price of 255 or so I really paid more like 290. I didn’t catch that at first but as I was driving I realized what he had done and I felt a little outraged but I figured I was just out of luck. I hope that this long email was not in vain and as a company you guys make this right, or my first experience with Uhaul will probably be my last.

The requested locations (note more than one), did not have the equipment, instead U-Haul moved my reservation to Cornelius, a 46 mile rt which I would have been required to pay for for merely picking up the truck. I found a perfectly good vendor in Lincolnton only 24 miles rt.

I needed a receipt and it could only be emailed to me. I had to turn it into the church for reimbursement but can’t get it to print off. The pad lock was very difficult to open and customer service wasn’t good. I’ve never had this experience before when we rented at other locations. If this is the way it is now then I may rent through a different company next time.
