upon arriving i was told to enter an auto body shop and knock on a window. The woman took my key and said that's it. There was no inspection or review. When i asked if she was going to check the equipment, she said not and that I would get my final bill in e-mail. no verification of issues. I received and bill for an additional $10.00 for fuel. This is crap, i filled it to exactly where i got it. Not happy it was not checked before i left. I want a refund of the $10.00

I had the WORST experience with Uhaul at the 1300 Freeman Ave location in Long Beach, CA. First of all, why doesn't this location have its own phone number? The number I called was for a call center, and the 2 people I spoke with there gave me conflicting information about after-hours drop-offs. Second of all, the woman working at this location needs a better work ethic and communication skills. I made a reservation over the phone to pick up a truck and all seemed fine. When I arrived at the location - several minutes prior to my reservation time - I went up to the window and could see the woman sitting at her desk seemingly doing something on her computer. She did not acknowledge me for several minutes. When she finally came to the window I told her I had a reservation and she told me she would get back to me in 5 minutes. That would have been 5 minutes AFTER my reservation time that we would just be getting started. Did I mention that there was only one other person there before me and he had already been helped? So I'm waiting for longer than 5 minutes past my reservation time now, at which point another guy comes in who needed help finding one of the workers. This further delayed the woman from helping me. Long story short, it took 30 minutes past my reservation time until I had left the site with the truck I rented. 30 MINUTES. And it was NOT busy. OK, so I come back at 4:50PM to return the truck before the place closes at 5:00PM. The gate is closed and there is a sign with a doorbell that says to ring it. I ring it and nobody comes. I ring it again a few minutes later and nobody comes. Another customer who was also trying to return a truck opens the gate (surprise, it wasn't even locked) and finds the woman working there. Why didn't she come to the gate? Because she was too busy eating her dinner. Seriously??? So I finally speak with her and she tells me that I'll get a receipt in my email. She doesn't even bother to physically inspect the truck. I told her I didn't want any mistakes on the bill and that I would like her to go look at the truck with me so that we are on the same page. She tells me to hold on and goes back to her dinner. Like, hello, I can see you ignoring me! So I go to her again and tell her that I'm trying to get outta there because it is now after 5:00PM and I have already been waiting for over 15 minutes. Her response was "ok give me 10 minutes". What the heck could take ANOTHER 10 minutes to type in some numbers and email me a bill? I told her I needed to go and she kept telling me that I could just leave the truck and go. So unprofessional. After telling her again, she finally put the numbers in and had my bill emailed to me. Literally took her 2 minutes of her precious time ON THE CLOCK. I have worked in customer service and would never have been as lazy as this woman was. I should never have to tell someone to do their job. If there was an urgent matter, she could have communicated that to me. This was the

My first impression is that this location is understaffed. When I picked up my rental there was only one employee in the location to process my order and get me on my way. The employee was busy answering phones and therefore unable to get me on my way in a timely manner. Staff wad friendly and cooperative, but another person would help keep things moving. For this reason I would not recommend this location to others.

The gentleman who hooked up the trailer to my car did not take into account all the safety measures. He sent me off to the nearest U-Haul location to buy the appropriate adaptor for my brake lights to function. Very dangerous move. He left me no choice!

This location is very very hard to find. I was told to drop the auto transporter and I had to do it myself. It blocked the exit so a man came and moved it so I could get out of their yard. No one said what to do next so I had to ask if I was through.. The lady had gone back to her office and when asked she said your ok to go ..very confusing for me

Incredibly difficult to find. Dolly rented & included on contract was not in the truck when I arrived at my home. I was never offered an inspection of the vehicle. They put in that the tank was full when it was 7/8 and suggested that I just fill it anyway... I said no made them adjust... they were just excited to close early...

I am not reviewing this location I am reviewing the customer service 18007893638. I had a fantastic experience talking to the individuals who work at 1600 E PCH and also at the location specified for this review. I did not however have a good experience with the people answering the customer service line. They were rude and sarcastic and completely unhelpful! I would recommend a different rental company based on my interactions with them alone!

The truck was dirty and not clean. Soda spilled on the driver side floor mat. The truck was filled less than 1/2 and I returned it with at least 5/8 full of gas and was still charged fuel fee of 46.75...Overall very poor representation of Uhaul.

I drove 31 miles, put in over 2 gallons of gas (I have the receipt) yet was charged over $12 for gas. Seems like a bit too much!

I believed this location was open until 7pm. We arrived just after 6:30pm to find the gate chained, and although we could see a security guard inside, he did not come when we repeatedly rang the doorbell. This was Saturday, and we had until Monday morning to return the truck, but it was not convenient to keep it with us. We called the El Cajon store, and Krista told us to park the truck legally, leaving the key and contract in the dropbox, and offered to email us a copy of our contract so we would have a copy too. SHe assured us that security cameras surrounded the area, and that the truck would be safe.
