There's not enough space to park the uhauls, no one helped me when I got there. I had to call and was told to just "find parking somewhere". Then I left the keys and was told I'd receive the receipt in half an hour, but it was more like 8 hours later, making me really scared that I'd left the keys to someone not connected to uhaul and therefore would be in trouble.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with Uhaul. This location is a junk yard and when i got there for my 8 am pick up there was a man sleeping in a broken down car outside the gate who claimed he worked for them but made no attempt to help me pick up my 8am reservation. it took me over an hour to actually pick up the vehicle which was was not where it was supposed to be, it wreaked of smoke and actually had a parking ticket on it, and that whole ordeal ruined the entire rest of my schedule for the day.

You guys sould warm poeple that the gps sends you to a different address, also the drop off area is not a parking lot, you have to find your way on the street and drop the keys on a box from a mechanic shop, it was very wierd.

I would like to receive a call from a supervisor regarding this rental. I would also like an immediate reimbursement for this rental. As you can see from my history, I use U-Haul quite frequently. It is always a seamless and pleasant experience, up until now. I had a 9am reservation. I arrived 15 minutes early and understood that they weren't open yet. That was fine. However, they were still not opened by 9:15, and then 9:30. The woman opening the location arrived at 9:30 and apologized because she was caught in traffic. I kept quiet but in my mind, I'm thinking: "this is nyc, there is always traffic. This is unacceptable." Upon arrival, she only had one of the two keys to open the gate. It is not 9:40am and still no van. Meanwhile, the owner drives up and when I start telling him my dismay, he says: "hey bud, just relax"....They still can't get the gate open. Now, 3 men are trying to pry lock and gate open, all to no avail. The first woman that arrived finally took a photo of my credit card and drivers license and gave me a key to a vehicle from the night drop. The worst part of this whole debacle is that I lost my job for which this rental was intended. I arrived at my client's apartment and his wife told me that they couldn't wait any longer and they had to hire someone else. I returned the vehicle and when asked for a final receipt, the same unprofessional owner said, "she's not here, you'll have to wait for her to return if you want it". I asked when she was going to return. He said; "i don't know". I do have self preservation skills and decided to just walk away from this and take it up with U-haul as this thug like disrespectful person was not going to give me any assistance. My cell is 646-265-8293 Plesse call me to discuss if need be or simply show me the credit for this rental to my email which is Thank You, Gary

The guy who worked there was very rude. Forget about bringing the truck next to the office, he gave us the wrong parking location of the truck, not once but twice. We lost more than 30 mins just to find the location of the truck. I spoke to him about this problem and he told me that he didn't know where the truck was parked and it's my responsibility to find the parking location not his.

We scheduled our pick up for 9 am (the opening time of this location) for our 10' truck. We arrived at 8:45 and proceeded to wait until 10:30 because the employees that arrived to the location did not have keys to the trailer that provided us entry to complete the paperwork to fill out for our rental. The person who had the keys had to come out from Manhattan (the location is in LIC) and we were forced to wait nearly 2 hours to get our uhaul which naturally put a hiccup in our entire moving day. It was extremely unprofessional and irritating to be forced to wait when the initial rental was scheduled prior to that time and the company was aware of our pick up time and needs. After we returned the truck we were called about the whereabouts of the keys to the truck when they were turned in to one of the employees the night before. Overall, it was a dissapointing experience especially since the employees were clearly irritated by the lack of organization as well. I will not be returning to this location and possibly not to uhaul in the future.

Our poor experience was not with this location persay but with the entire rental process. Problem #1: We were originally scheduled for pick up at 9am at a different location; 5 minutes before 9am we got a call saying that our truck was not available. I understand that the reservation doesn't guarantee the location, but calling only 5 minutes before was really inconvenient. My husband had already arrived and had to walk to the next location. Problem #2: Once my husband arrived at the new location (at around 9:15am), the location wasn't even open, in spite of being told that it would be open at 9am. Problem #3: Once the new location opened, they were unabe to find our reservation, which we had no control of since Uhaul was the one that changed our pickup location. All in all, we got started over an hour later than we expected. While we understand that it's hard to guarantee reservations at specific locations, the way things were handled made things difficult for us and frankly, every Uhaul employee my husband talked to along the way gave us attitude as if the problem was our fault. I am greatly disappointed with our experience and will think again before renting from Uhaul again.

I was supposed to pick my uhaul up at another location and upon arrival I was stunned to discover that I had to go to a different location to pick up my car. I should be refunded for the haste I had to deal with when picking up this vehicle. I do not recommend using uhaul again. I am extremely disappointed in the service.

The location can't park trucks. One attendant told me that she would not take the truck from me, she was just hanging out with other people. I never received a confirmation that the truck was accepted. I was afraid the truck was not going to be in the system. It was horrible.

Communication with U-Haul is difficult. I waited on hold on the 800 go uhaul number for long periods. The online access was iffy. At first I couldn't get the confirming email when trying to set up my account. When I needed to change the pick up time the site would not take the change. When i turned in the truck after hours, I could not submit the pictures of the odometer and fuel guage. And of course I could not get through on the phone.

The worst. Person arrived 15 min. late. Waited outside a makeshift trailer over an hour, in the sun with junk cars. Computer kept going out due to faulty emergency generator outside. Had to redo the app. a couple times. Vehicle arrived with 5-6 parking tickets stuffed underneath & a damaged left rear backup light I did not notice until returned. Happy to get out of there with my life. Not a good 1st impression for U-haul.

I went to pick up the truck at 9 and we didn't leave until 10:30. Have the employees be ready with the trucks for the time that the customer requests

I was a little disappointed to start this process. I had asked for an 8:00 am start and when I called the location to tell them I was running about 5-10 minutes late, they abruptly told me that they were not open until 9:00 am. I don't understand why UHaul would confirm 8:00 am if the location doesn't open until 9:00 - very disappointing. Also, I am a stickler for cleanliness, especially when you're driving a truck, but it was sticky and honestly smelled like a cat had urinated all over the truck. Finally, the gas tank a 1/8th of a tank left. I understand that you only get a little bit of gas but when you provide a $16 courtesy for gas, but it takes $60 to then fill it up is a little insane to me.

Waited over 45 minutes to see an attendant. No apology and no explanation. My rental was cut short. I had to rush to pick up my purchase and rush back to return the truck on time. While the attendant was helpful and courteous with me, the overall atmosphere of the place was unprofessional. Employees were cursing and constantly interrupting the person that was helping me.

Staff are not helpful, very disorganised, van smelled like urine. I wasted time and gas trying to park the van in an industrial area.

The computer was so slow it took multiple times to input the information because it kept crashing. It took well over a half hour just to get through what should have been 5 min of paperwork. When we returned, instead of dropping the truck off, we were required to search the neighborhood for street parking. Another waist of time. Nice truck, everything else not so much.

Everything was great

I originally indicated my drop off location to be 49th Ave and Van Dam. When I went to this location the uhaul rep indicated I had to go to the 11th street location. I dont know why this was the case. The 11th street location did not have assigned parking so you had to drive around multiple blocks to find a spot. More importantly, the neighborhood was sketchy. While nothing happened, I definitely would not use this location again, particularly after hours!

Just don't go here. The dude who helped me needs more training. The space could be cleaner or at least have a waiting area.

Have the correct vehicles located where the mobile app says they are.

Merrill C. on

they are not terribly organized (I waited a while to check in and get keys, and then they couldn't locate the van, so we had to drive around the neighborhood looking for it) and the neighborhood seems a little sketchy

The most unprofessional environment I have ever been to. Extremely unknowledgeable about Uhaul systems. They couldn't figure out how the Uhaul credit card processing system works, and so they threatened not to rent me the truck (when I had movers scheduled to come). The person who took my order kept answering the phone and cursing and used sexist curses. They took forever and the location smelled terrible, was a disgusting trailer, and they were beyond rude and obnoxious. Jerry Springer was blasting in the background the entire time I was there. They also failed to give me the dolly and blankets I had ordered. Uhaul should immediately end this franchise.
