Made reservation for pick up at 10:30AM for 6 hours. Truck wasn’t available until 1pm and was then told I had to return it by 4pm or if have to keep it until Monday (2.5 days later). Had to make most my move without the truck and then had to rush to get the last of it done to get truck back. Very stressful.

This location was my 2nd of the day. I made the first reservation by phone and was confirmed for pick up at the motor dealer ship on venice blvd, he doesn’t rent anymore. This delayed my ENTIRE DAY. I’m a personal assistant and I’m so disappointed because I used to work in sales and reservations at UHaul... We got charged for an extra day even though we returned the rental right on time. The employee told us to leave the keys and he would take care of it as he was busy with another customer.. at first thought we were like great ! Then realized we got charged because he completed the paperwork to return the vehicle 40 min after we returned it. I don’t find it acceptable to get charged for another person’s mistake.

TERRIBLE experience. Took me 3 whole hours to get checked in online with the self service check in. after spending all that time when I was in a rush, I was forced to deal with the random smog employee to get this sorted at the location. The most complicated and disorganized check in and dropoff I had ever experienced. There was No employee even available at dropoff time...

Have the truck I requested. Have the equipment I requested. Not overbook locations. Call when you say you’ll call. Refund my money because you didn’t have what I needed when I requested it days in advance.

Originally was supposed to drop off at National Blvd Self Storage location 10321 National Blvd (this was an available option and confirmed at time of reservation). When I showed up there, the woman at the counter said they no longer "do U-Haul" despite there being U-haul signs everywhere and a U-haul truck on the premises. She offered only another location in Santa Monica. Very frustrating and lucky I was early so there was still time to go to the National Smog & Check location where luckily I was able to drop off. But, if I hadn't been early I would have had to keep the truck an extra night (and I was flying out of town the next morning). U-Haul NEEDS to take National Self Storage OFF their website so other customers don't run into this problem. Very unprofessional.

The owner of the location was very adamant about me returning the truck before 8:30am the following day. He was very strict and kept telling me it HAD to be retuned by 8:30am because a different customer would be needing it by 9am. I waited over 40 minutes for him to open the gates to his shop and he never showed. I had to call the 1800 number for instructions on returning the truck to avoid extra daily charges.

Returning the truck was really easy. It was not clear at first that charges for extra miles would be assessed later, and that after handing in the keys I could leave, but this is really a very minor thing

I was charged for two days but I only had the car out for less than one day! The man even pressured me to have the van back by 11 a.m., which I did, so why was I charged for an extra day?!

The location is convenient, but a bit small for novices to be maneuvering trucks. Rental and the van itself were all good!

While the location and man I dealt with were excellent, U-Haul failed to provide to him the dozen pads I had reserved. He helped me with the loan of three pads of his own, but the company should be better about delivering to him items ordered by the customer.

The employee who was there was barely trained in what to do when renting a Uhaul to a customer. When we asked him questions he got defensive and gave us confusing answers. He repeatedly called his boss to ask him questions and even put the boss on speaker phone to tell us things. I paid for 12 furniture blankets, but he said they only had 10. It turned out that they only gave us 9. He told me that I would not be charged until I turned the Uhaul in to the other location, but I was immediately charged by him on a card that I did not want to use. When my boyfriend called to tell them there were only 9 blankets, the boss talked over him and was extremely defensive. I was appalled by the poor customer service at this location. I do not believe they should be certified to rent Uhauls.
