I had to pickup my truck 14 miles away from my home and pay 0.69 cents per gallon, when there was a uhaul location 2 miles from my house but did not have a truck I requested. If I requested big truck they would have brought one in for me. So my complaint is I paid 14 miles to get a truck and I paid 14 miles to return the truck. I moved 5 miles from my old address and I should not have to pass up one of your uhaul location to get to another for what I need. Truck needs to be serviced, bad back brakes

When I picked my 4x8 trailer rental, Wayne assured me that they check everything, daily. Nope. For the U- Haul back to my parent's house, to load some things stored there....low and behold, A HUGE solid steel U- Haul sign & steel frame were in the trailer. Apparently, the trailer I rented was used as storage by the business. I got injured trying to get the sign out of this 1970s looking U- Haul trailer that I smacked my head 4 times on, out. The sign had has been wedged into the trailer. I had already had to drive 16+ miles to pick the U- Haul up. I called the business, "Auto Care" in Middlesboro, MY, to inform Wayne. He said he'd come by & pick the sign up. It is still in front of my parents used. Overall, the customer service was great at U- Haul! Love you guys....but I got the oldest U- Haul in history that has no head clearance and was being used as a storage unit. The door latch is so rusted that pieces of it were breaking kidding. I love U- Haul....but that business shouldn't be utilizing your trailers for storage bins. And the trailer I received, should be "decommissioned" I don't think Wayne knew the sign was in there....but the trailer had obviously, been sitting for a very long time, indented. Why I got one that was like loading a tiny cave, is beyond me. A person could get a massive head trauma from those old tiny, small opening trailers and die from brain swelling. As an RN....I have 4 hematoma on my skull....tge first one STILL hurts. I am hoping it knocked sense into me, so that next time, I will insist on a newer unit, with better head clearance. Those old ones are death traps. But, thank you, U- Haul, for working with me, as I had to drop off in a different town due to my vehicle problema with the right CV joint & transaxle from hitting a huge pothole with that tire. The back and the U- Haul didn't hit it...I had swerved to avoid the back hitting the huge hole. Looked like a Meteorite hit right in the middle of the right lane. It was awful. So, again, thank you for your wonderful Customer Service. Caitlyn was awesome, when I first reserved the U- Haul. She deserves a raise! She made the whole reservation process, painless, easy, and quick. Thank you, again.

The truck needs a new transmission, barely able to pull hills before weighing it down with furniture. Over charged me based on my reservation and told me they had included it when I asked, but per my receipt they did not.

Nobody was there even though should have been open, place did not look inviting, little signage. There was a couple there stuck because they were suppose to pick up a truck and no one there.

I requested a 17 foot truck and one was not available for pick up. I was told the 17 foot truck would be there in 5 minutes for about 30 minutes. They had a 15 foot truck, which I ended up taking.

The young men at this Middlesboro, KY location "went above and beyond" to make sure I was completely satisfied with my rental. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone renting from UHaul.



Make sure trucks are clean and filled with wind shield washer fluids and make sure all parts are in good shape if trucks are older then 2 years old, truck I rented brakes n air conditioning went out! My worse rental ever!!!!



I reserved a 17' truck, when I got there, (location was 25 miles farther than I wanted) the truck I got was 14'. I have rented enough uhaul's to know what size it was, when I told the vendor this, he argued it was a 17' truck, even swore on his life it was 17'. Got it to the job and measured, it was 14'. Had paid help waiting, the truck was not big enough to get the job done, will have to do the rest of loading in my own truck and trailer, could not afford to do 2 trips with the uhaul. Turned the uhaul in after 8 hrs, vendor was closed, put the keys in the lock box, have been trying to call vendor for 3 hours this morning, cannot get them to answer phone, do not know if contract is complete or not at this point. Out of my 30 or more times of renting a uhaul, this was the worst experience. I need to move across country next week, but I will be checking into Budget because I am not sure the right size uhaul truck will be at a location closer to me when needed and I will not have the option of taking the wrong size, and I will not return to the Middlesboro location to be treated like I was. The gas gauge on the contract said it was a 1/4 tank, when I started the truck, it was actually less than 1/8 tank, I took a picture with my phone because the vendor told me it didn't matter and I know better. 2 blocks from the vendor I stopped and put $20 of fuel in it and it still did not quite reach a 1/4 tank of gas, I knew there was not enough gas in it to start with to make it the 25 miles to my location. I better not be charged with any fuel, I put 50 miles on it and returned it with more gas than when I got it. Overall, a very bad experience.

The folks here were nice folks. The business was clean and easily accessible. However, we scheduled online. We were upgraded to a larger truck. I ordered what I could back in the driveway. I arrived to find a bigger truck..... It couldn't turn down the alley (we wound up carrying everything over 100 yds to the truck). They didn't have the furniture moving stuff we ordered either. Had to drive 70 extra miles to pick up the truck because the local dealer didn't have one (did not adjust the price so I owed extra in the end.) In the end online purchases should be better coordinated with local vendors.

I originally had reserved a different truck at a different location but had to switch truck sizes and location at the last minute because uhaul did not have what I needed in the area. I also was only able to have the truck for 4 hours. Additionally, I also reserved furniture pads, but they were never given to me.

Don't use cash for your deposit. Might not get your refund when you return it. Took me 4 attempts over two days before I got my refund. Manager is the only one with cash to refund.

Very helpful. I had been instructed to pick up the truck at this location, and the tow dolly in Pineville, KY. When I went to pick up the dolly, I was told the employee there did not know how to do the rental. I called the 800 number, and was sent back to Middlesboro to pick up the dolly. They did not have one, but the employee there drove to Pineville and got one for me. The employees in Middlesboro were extremely helpful, but I lost 3-hours of moving time, which really hurt.

For some unknown reason, the person typing my contract thought I had declined insurance when I placed my order on the phone -- the subject had never come up. He had to redo the paper work to correct this mistake, and then redid the contract a couple more times (lots of balled up paper!) before he got it right. Just took longer than I thought it should. All is well.

really did not care if I rented or not...just told me to go around back and hook up...never explained anything about the universal is really dirty...I will never recommend this location!!!!
