Dave's Automotive was great.. UHaul, was not.. UHaul downgraded my rental from 26' to 20' with 2 days notice, they failed to keep my 8am pickup appt time costing me $100 in labor since I had a work crew scheduled, they changed my pickup location costing me more $$ in mileage fees.. I am NOT impressed with UHaul.. If I could've rented a truck from Ryder, Penske, or Budget, I would've cancelled UHaul.. The other companies were already booked for that date.. I think UHaul did this crap on purpose to make more money.. What a rip-off..

This location was not my preferred pick up location because of the distance from my house. I was not notified that my pick up location had changed. They did not have furniture pads that I had reserved. Had to go to another location and they didn't have any either. All of this delayed our loading and departure.

Truck was not there at 9 like we asked was not there till 12. People scheduling the locations and times need more training first they said the one on Wall Street location where I wanted was available then I got an email to pick up on interstate location told them I needed it by 9 didn’t get it until 12. Not location fault is the people scheduling.

I was very disappointed with my visit. I had made my reservation and was really excited to know that I would have a dolly and 2 dozen blankets to take care of my furniture that is not even a year old. I got to Dave's and they had to look for a dolly and when I asked about my blankets he simply said "I don't have any" and so I had no choice but to take it as I needed the uhaul but I had to use my own blankets and sheets. Also we took the uhaul to the location listed for drop off and it was just an empty lot. I had to call customer service and they had to call manager and direct me to correct location after I had already locked everything up and at very end they charged me money more money fornileage after I had already paid. Very upsetting. I will never use usual again

The trailer was attached to my vehicle. During our trip to San Marcos, the trailer came off the hitch of my truck! The trailer is tongue is either broke or was not attached properly. I attempted to contact U-Haul several times but never was able to get in touch with anyone. We are very lucky that no one was hurt because of the incompetence of the U-Haul in Midland who attached the RV to my vehicle. It appears that this company does not support their customers during and after the rental. I then dropped the U-Haul off in San Marcos. I attempted to contact them but never could get anyone to answer there either during business hours. I then find that they charged me $100 clean fee when the trailer was completely clean and empty when we dropped it off. I will be passing this around and will not use U-Haul again...

On Dropoff: The first employee to help me, named Diego (I believe) was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately he had trouble with the computer. It was his first day working in the office. He asked for help from the other employee named Christina (I believe). Instead of helping Christina demanded I take my service dog outside because another customer said she had allergies. I explained to Christina that she could not legally ask me to remove a service animal and that I need my service dog she got angry and said “nobody’s going to get sick on my watch.” The woman who said she had allergies was with two men, who were from their conversation, the primary customers. When Christina waited on them the woman did not speak so did not need to be there. She could have waited outside though she chose not to leave and never exhibited any allergic symptoms. If her allergies were severe it seems she would choose to wait outside. All of this over someone who did not need to be present. Christina sent Diego outside where he could not help other customers or me. This left her alone to wait on all customers in the office literally crammed with people. She made me wait until she cleared ALL of the other customers including more that continued to come into the office, before helping me. I was forced to wait almost an hour and pay the person I hired to unload for an extra hour. When I rented the storage space I was quoted first month rent free and following months at $159.95. This was listed as a company policy for one way rentals. So the number was part of all contracts not just a quote. I showed Christina the email I received 3 days prior stating this rate. She told me I was wrong.and refused to call and verify though she made such calls for all of the customers she made me wait behind. I was forced to pay $159.95 I did not owe or not be able to rent the space, unload the trailer, return the rental, etc. I remained cordial through all of this because I just wanted to have the guy I was paying by the hour unload and leave. My disability meant I was in a great deal of pain and having movement problems. I really needed to leave soon. After my trailer was unloaded and empty I went back into the office and found Christina yelling at two other sets of customers. They were also being cordial to her and just wanted to leave like I did. When Christina saw me she started to get upset again. I stopped her and said kindly, “it’s going to be all right calm down. If I made your day any harder I’m sorry but it really is gonna be all right just take a deep breath.” I just wanted her calm so I could leave as did the other four customers at which she was yelling. I asked her if someone could just unhook the trailer from my car so I could leave. She told me I would need to go outside take my trailer out of the lot into which it had already been returned, and get in line again with all the new arrivals turning in rental tra

The man who I talked to simply printed a receipt and told me to drop it off out back with the others. He then asked if I needed any help. I just told him no. It seemed like he didn't really want to deal with it. I didn't tell him about the grease chains because He didn't seem like the type to care. On a side note here...I could have driven off with the dolly AND my receipt stating that I had turned it in. Because he didn't physically check it in and had about 6 others out there that were not in his view and he also didn't have a clear view of the drive way out I could have been gone with your dolly and paperwork saying you had it. NOT GOOD. I didn't. But someone else might.

Again I was rented a trailer with bad tires.. I was asked to call around and look for a trailer with better tires. I did not have the time to do so cause we were packing for our trip which was ruined because of the fact that I had to wait 2 1/2 hours in Seminole for tires to be sent to us for install. I drove from Midland to Seminole and arranged the meet up with the tire guy from Hobbs, NM. I will never use U-Haul again. The last trailer I rented had tires 14 years old on it.
