A closer drop off point would have been preferable. Saw places that were closer to home

Dropped truck off the night before it was due. Called and spoke to someone named "Bill" after 4 attempts to call with no answer. Was told to leave the truck locked and drop the key in the lock box by the front door of the feed store. I did this on Friday night, March 9th. I then got a call from a U-Haul rep 2 days later asking where the truck was. I also got an email from U-Haul saying the truck had not been returned. This drop off location apparently did not process the return, but I complied with everything in the contract, including using this drop off location.

I called uhaul on Friday July 14th and placed my orderFor a uhaul truck that would fit a 3bedroom house, appliance dolly and large moving boxes. I went pick up the truck and the "uhaul" guy was not there. The gentleman behind the counter was not able to help me, he asked if I could come back in 20mins that the uhaul guy would be there. So when I returned he was there. My truck was ready but the "uhaul" gentleman did not know about corporate accounts and we had to clarify that I did not need to give him my credit card. We finally cleared it up but then he was not able to print my contaract. He said my printer doesn't work I think it got struck by lightning. He gave me the keys, loaded the dolly and told me he doesn't have any boxes. So I left and went to get gas because the truck only had a 1/4 tank of gas and was not going to make it from Milton to niceville where my new home is. So we went to wal-mart to buy boxes then we loaded it up and got everything moved. We cleaned out the uhaul to return it. We looked up the commander storage where I was told to return the truck and headed that way. Once I got there it was pretty much off the beaten path. Got out and looked around for a drop box to put the key and NOTHING was in sight. So I called uhaul and asked if I could take it across the street at the petro station where uhals were and she said no that that would be a charge for a wrong drop. She stated the only thing I could do was to put the key along with my contract in the back of the truck and leave it. I did not feel comfortable at the location where the truck was to do so. So I left the truck and put a very visible note on the drivers door that stated to call me so I can return the key. I worked at 5am the next day and was waiting for a call and never received one. So again I called uhal on my way home and again asked to move the truck across the street. The region supervisor said yes take the keys over there and that would be my drop. So I did. I thought it was finally over and done with. On Wednesday morning I received an email stating that the uhaul truck was never returned and to contact uhaul. So at that point I called my corporate office and told them clear it up, that I was done. So Patti told me she would handle it from this point. So when I finally received large moving boxes at my empty Milton house on Thursday, three days after we moved. Don't think I will ever use uhaul again.
