I recommend that you go over contract/agreement details with the customer thoroughly. This was my first time using UHaul for a long across state line move. I moved from Milwaukee to Memphis and was unable to move all of my family's belongings in one trip. I was unable to afford the larger truck at the time so I decided to go with the smaller 16' truck. I was curious about the mileage since We had the truck available to us for over three days. So, I asked the associate if there was a limit in regards to the mileage that we would put on the vehicle, he told me not to worry about it and that we were fine. I was surprised that such a service was offered and unfortunately took his word for it and did not look at the receipt/agreement closely. I decided to make two trips from Milwaukee to Memphis so that I would be able to move all of my belongings before the return date. It was a long haul here, back, and then here again. After a tiring and strenuous move I was happy that I was able to complete the trip on time. I even took time to clean the truck thoroughly before returning it. On the drop off date at the N Watkins location in Memphis, I found out that we did in fact have a limited amount of miles/usage on the truck and would have to pay for the additional miles on the vehicle. I was stunned and deeply disappointed when I heard the news from my mother, who was dropping off the truck for me while I was at work. She was told that I would have to pay an additional $600 on top of the $1000 rental charge. The store attendant only gave her one hour to pay the fee or have it charged to the debit card on file. She did not have enough money to cover the extra charge and worriedly called me at work to notify me of the issue. I took some time off work in order to visit the location on Watkins and pay the charge....this could have all been avoided if there were open communication from UHaul, prior to the purchasing of a rental. This was an upsetting occurrence and a very unprofessional manner of conducting business. I will not be purchasing any services from UHaul ever again, I will seek service with Penske, Enterprise, or any other moving rental service but never again will I recommend your company to family and friends. I guess you can't take anyone's word seriously nowadays. A very poor experience and one that I would never wish on anyone.

this location was a used/scrap car lot with many old and broken down vehicles, the office was disgusting reeking of smoke and garbage. The vehicle I rented was outside the fencing and when I started to drive away realized the windshield had been shot up with what appears to be a bb gun. The "gentleman" running the front desk said it must have happened the evening before, marked it and said good bye.
