Dolley was broken, and no replacement was available. The bigger problem was the horrible customer service on the phone with the regional office prior to getting to the pick-up location. Shockingly bad.

I made my reservation 1 month ahead to a location closer to home and when I show up to pick up the truck they send me 140 miles far from where I was and when I arrived my destination in tx I was charges for 150 miles because of that so I'm so disappointed with the schedule department there is not point to make a reservation if you don't gonna have your truck ready then you end up wasting TIME AND MONEY ????

Rented a 24' truck that was entirely unsafe and should never have been given to me. I told the associate I would be driving 90 miles from Newark to Coshocton, then back to Newark. This truck should never be put on the road let alone the highway. The headlamps were almost nonexistent and the battery light was flashing the entire 45 mile drive to Coshocton. The poorly illuminated headlights were flickering on and off along with the battery light, i'm surprised the alternator did not go out of it while I had the truck. Makes very loud squealing sound. Poor breaks, transmission is failing. This truck should not be in service. The most upsetting thing was when I found that the associate had handwritten that the customer (ME!!) waived liability claims on my belongings due to rain because of a hole in the roof that was covered with aluminum tape; I was told to sign the opposite side of this small form indicating the insurance coverage that I purchased. Did not see that he had hand written this part about a hole in the roof until after I left with the truck as it was designed to physically stick, with the handwritten side down, within the U-Haul pamphlet. There was never a mention of liability waiver. I paid it the same price for a 24 foot 25-year-old truck as I would have paid for a 26 foot newer truck, in good operating condition, with exception to the amount of gas I had to put back in it because it is so old and not efficient. This truck should not be on the road, your associates should not include waiver of liability information due to previous damage without notifying the customer, the seatbelt was in poor condition, The steering wheel must be held at a 45° angle in order to steer the truck Street , the AC did not work at all even though indicated on the side of the truck for marketing purposes. Someone is going to get hurt by using this truck on longer halls rather than in town. Also, I ordered an appliance dolly and it was never given to me nor was it put in the truck where an associate was working and had already started the truck, probably to service it, since it is in such poor condition. however there was a small box dolly which we did not use because we already had one. (That's why I ordered an appliance dolly!) The moving blankets were hanging open and falling out, very dirty, and were without the zip tie which would indicate that I did not use them. Very disappointed in U-haul, im using Penski for my second load and mos likely will not use this company again.

When someone fills the gas tank out of pocket them gets charged for 4 gallons of gas and extra miles is ridiculous. I will never use uhaul again for anything I might need it for. There are better options than this service

The trailer hadn't been swept and had broken glass on the floor. There was a broom available so I swept it. No problem.

First off I had reserved a 10 ft truck over 2 months ago, get there and get a 15 ft truck. Not a big deal normally but I reserved the smaller for a reason due to tight spaces. When I asked the woman at the Newark location about the size change she was completely rude and condescending. Due to her attitude and being just plan rude I will never again do business with them again and will make sure to spread the word of the location and the rude and miserable woman. She has no business being in ANY customer facing role.

We had a reserved truck for pick up on 5/31 from Mt. Vernon, OH. On 5/31, we were informed when we went to get our truck that it had been rented and another was being returned at 2:30pm that we could use. This was a loss of a lot of time. at 3pm, we returned to learn that the returned truck had been extended to another day. We were not called...only learned after we went there, for a second time. Guy at the shop was clueless and we called toll-free # just aftr 3pm EST. We were told that the only truck available was in Newark, Oh....80 miles away. We went, and learned at the site, that the auto-carrier we had reserved, was not available. We had to take a 4-wheel carrier (were driving through the Rockies, didn't want this type of trailer, it's harder on mountain roads)...we had no choice, took it. We got a dolly for boxes that was 3' tall, and was worthless. We didnt' even use it. We ended up dropping off car carrier in Denver, as it was difficult to manage on mountain roads....ongoing issues throughout this entire reservation. 3 calls to customer service, and all were receptive. Promises of follow up and/or making it right....still waiting on that. Just a very bad experience overall. We've used Uhaul 4 or more times with moves...we will not again.

The only complaint that I had was I did rent a 10 foot truck and I got a regular cab instead so I didn't have time to question at the time of the person lumps but it all worked out so that was the only issue that I had

After the pick up went so wonderfully, we did not expect a repeat performance, but we got one. Prompt, courteous, helpful to say the least. The return process is so smooth, all I had to do was show up. Thanks N 21st U-haul. And thanks for helping me with my questions in the reservation process. I even recommended them as a place of employment for our college son home for the summer. Great company, great employees.

i set up online to pick this up in zanesville,ohio. i drove 55 miles to find out they didn't have the trailer i had booked.I then had to travel another 40 miles out of my way to get this one from newark. why take the time to book online if you don't know if the shop has the equipment you need...was very disappointed overall with your service. the folks at newark location were fine and treated me good.

put the correct valve on the replacement tire so the customer can monitor the mileage of their trip I could not read the mileage because it kept saying Monitor tire system instead of reading the mileage. If you are being charged by the mile you need to know the mileage!!

Booked my truck online with a $15 savings for taking it to New Philadelphia. The discount wasn't applied when I picked up the truck. When I asked about the discount, the man working told me "buddy, you locked that in online. Nothing I can do." When I asked to have the drop off location chaned (if I wasn't saving the $15, I wasn't going to go out if my way to return it out if town) he said he would have to cancel the order. I pressed about the discount and he told me "the manager is sitting right there, you can talk to her". Ultimately she was too busy for me. Finally he said "what do you want? $15, I'll just refund it"! Then when got in the truck, it didnot have as much fuel as the contract indicated. When I went inside to ask, he again got rude and said "just take it back with a half tank... I'll take care of it" I drove the truck to my new home, dropped it off at the specified location and guess what... he didn't take care of it. I ultimately had to call the original pickup location and have them correct the error. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a rental!
