1. Pickup location had moved, but it's not noted anywhere when making a reservation. Luckily I arrived before the Ace Hardware was closed and was able to speak to someone, otherwise I would not have known where to pick up my truck. 2. My truck was not ready at the reservation time. I had to wait for them to get a truck ready. 3. No instructions were provided on where to drop off the key at return. I had to search the property to find where to drop off the key.

I didn't choose insurance, but they charged me insurance money without asking me. They said will refund me the money when I called, but I never received the refund. Dont know if they do this to everyone.

The worst part of my rental experience was the condition of the vehicle. It was filty inside and out. Due to the virus I always carry wipes and cleaned every touchable surface myself. I went through 6 wipes and each one of them was black by the time I finished. I better not be charged for bringing back a dirty vehicle.

Please update your address. The Ace Hardware is no longer where the trucks/keys are located. There was some confusion and did cause us to lose a little time of our schedule trying to get to the new location a few miles away.

Make the key drop off sign bigger/ more visible at night do the online check in before dropping key in the box. I could not finish online return because I had already dropped key in and could not get picture of full gas tank or mileage. It was already locked up.

I was scheduled to pick up the van at the Ft Thomas location on Sunday. We arrived and didn't realize they weren't open. We were instructed to download an app and continue this way. The app wasn't loading correctly and we had customer service and pick up at a different location. We got there and had to drive to a a third location to get the van. Fortunately, it worked out, but I had a small window to pick up furniture I needed at my home on Monday for my contractor. It would have set me and him back a whole week if I missed this window. This was very inconvenient and a hassle to deal with!

The store was hard to find because no associate ever said they were located inside the hardware store. I did not like the drop off and pick up method because it seemed to trusting. And I had a bad experience at a Cincinnati location a year ago so I was overly apprehensive. Thst being said, the truck was clean and in great shape, the staff were friendly and helpful and my needs were met on time. For that, thank you.

The drop off lot was 1/2 mile up the road from the store and the kid didn't even help me to unhook the trailer.

The ash tray of the truck was full of cigarettes butts so the cab smelled, but other than that it was good.


We went to the agreed location to drop off the truck and they told us they didn't take return trucks and to take it to another location. This was time consuming and a pain to figure out how to get there. If we were told the correct location at the beginning, that would have helped a ton.

The U-Haul's are not kept at the location. Had to go another 1/2 mile down the road to obtain the vehicle. The mobile check in process is cumbersome and difficult to navigate. And the checkout process should be more upfront before hand.

With trash in the cab, cigarette ashes around the cup holders, and strong cigarette odor I'm sure this truck was not cleaned before my use.

First off I was directed to Ace Hardware in Newport. After arriving there I find out the vehicles are a 5 minute drive down the street. When I get there I discover I have to use my iphone to go through the rental process. After going through that I finally got in the vehicle and left about 50 minutes later. While leaving I called customer service to explain my time issue and they extend my rental an hour to compensate. Thank you. When I returned my vehicle I pulled in the lot on time, but received a call from an employee at Ace Hardware asking when I would be returning the truck. I explained that I was on the lot and was about to go through the process of returning. He said don't worry about it and that he would come down and do it for me. Not until I got my final bill did I see I was charged $20 additionally because he self volunteered to come check my vehicle back in. UNACCEPTABLE DECEPTIVE PRACTICE! I will be sharing this will all of my friends and family so they know what kind of scam Uhaul is pulling at their Ace Newport Scamming Location
