Passenger turn signal was burned out. Gas tank was only half full. Agent was terrific, but he had to call in to U-Haul because they overcharged me by $20 for mileage (they charged me $48, based on the miles rate of $0.79 instead of the kilometers rate of $0.49. We live in Canada for crying out loud - it's a metric society, and really not that complicated).

Used the App, very flaky did not work has bugs had to call customer service took 45 minutes to sort it out. They don’t give you a full tank of gas so your guessing on how to refill. Would not use this rental again.

You could never hope to improve upon the impeccable level of service at this location. The vendor was efficient, congenial, and professional, and I could never rate his service highly enough. I’d happily do business with him in the future.

The front glass was not clear and I couldn’t wash it with wiper. Honestly i didn’t try. It was freezing out there so I afraid to make the front glass icey. And interior of truck was so stinky. Thanks.

Parking was very dark and also trucks were parked tight together so vehicle inspection was not an option. After i was given key code, i had a very hard time getting into the vehicle as it was parked tight on driver side and passenger side was an inch away from railing. Fortunately i managed to squeeze in after several attempts and removing contents from my pockets.

Hello, I had to rent this truck at a separate location to a car transporter trailer that I needed. The trailer was under reservation 91697990. I had to do this as the other location didn't have a truck available and I had to move a car that I was picking up that day. I picked up the truck and drove to the other location (1410 Main St., North Vancouver). When I got there they couldn't verify the car I was transporting on the trailer even though it was in the system (Rover mini). I was told some details were missing. I had those details but your system wouldn’t accept them as they have to be added by head office. This was going to take up to 2 days! Basically there was no options for resolution because of the way your system is set up, either allow 2 days for head office to add them or bring the car to the U-Haul location. Obviously if I could have done that I wouldn't have needed the trailer in the first place! This meant that I had to cancel that reservations and return the truck. I wasted 2 hours of my day and it cost me around $50 because of all of this! I then had to pay a premium to get a tow truck service at short notice to move the car. Overall this just messed up my entire day. Not happy with the service at the 1410 Main St, North Vancouver location at all!

A quick 5 minute tutorial on the key features (i.e. hazard lights, opening gas tank, etc.) would be great, but otherwise everything was straight forward, in great working order, and worked out very well for us.

I actually have no complaints with the operator. He was super nice and very helpful getting the trailer mounted, etc. The problem was that this particular 4 x 8 trailer had a significant water leak, so I had to return it to the Marine Drive location (near my home) the next day to get a replacement (which was provided), As for the location, I gave it an average rating simply because it was very, very far from my home, whereas for someone else it might be a great location.

The issue with the location was that this was the 3rd uhaul address in Vancouver I was told to go to pick up the trailer. They said that the person who rented the trailer had kept it longer than they were supposed to. I should have been offered a discount for driving to a different location in rush hour traffic.

First and foremost, the vehicle we rented was brand new and in immaculate condition. Please be aware that this review is meant as a review of the establishment in partnership with U-haul and that my experience with the rental vehicle itself was outstanding. We called in prior to picking up the van we were renting to do two things, 1) check for availability and reserve the vehicle, 2) ask about rates. We reserved the vehicle no problem, however, working in Insurance, I thought I would inquire about a corporate rate; the person on the phone quoted me $15 instead of the daily rate of $20. We showed up at the location and proceeded to rent the vehicle. Mr. Zheng, the owner of Friendly Grocery, continued to service his customers with cigarette sales while drawing up our contract. Any time a customer walked in while he was processing our vehicle rental, he would stop what he was doing and make the sale. This happened 3 times, including when returning the vehicle. While I realize that miscommmunications happen, particularly with those who have learned English as a second language, Mr. Zheng's actions and attitude towards money became clear early on. He played dumb about what the corporate rate that we had asked about over the phone and attributed it to him understanding it as the price for insurance. His English was not bad and my partner did a good job of relaying what a corporate rate was on the phone. While I am not aware of the company policy around corporate rates (you may give them, maybe not), the attitude with which Mr. Zheng dismissed our question was rude and made me feel like I was asking for a handout as opposed to accessing a perk as a corporate partner. Returning the truck, Mr. Zheng said "you did not put fuel into the van". He tried to show some pictures and insisted that I did not fill it up. Of course I had not filled it up as it was filled up to the 15/16 line per the contract given to us and this is where I filled it back up to. While paying, he also asked for the receipts for the gas to prove my purchase, which I did not realize were necessary (they aren't). He tried to cheat me out of the gas money for this rental. Overall, at every turn, Mr. Zheng would try to cheat or lie his way into a more substantial bill and would not be transparent in the questions he answered. He accused me of not sticking to the contract and was shoving cell pictures in my face of the dashboard to show that the gas was not full while also, I believe, intentionally misrepresenting the daily price over the phone. My experiences with the vehicle were higher than expected and having never driven a van before, I felt safe and comfortable in the van that I was given, however, I would recommend reviewing your working relation with Friendly Grocery as they do not reflect well on the integrity of your business. I will be shopping around for a van rental again in the future and I am weary of choosing a U-Haul location that is not a central U-Haul f
