I reserved the truck at the Ferndale location. Upon arriving I was told they didn't have a truck and that I was supposed to go to the Oak Park location. I was assured that a truck was waiting for me there. I arrived there only to find the young man at the counter didn't have a clue what was going on. We spent well over a half hour standing at the counter while he continued to ask us questions, and had to repeatedly spell words to him. He stood there in the dark office, chomping on his gum and didn't even have a pen to use. When we were fully frustrated, he finally gave us keys to a truck. He didn't show us where the truck was and it had less than a qtr tank of gas. This location was difficult to find and the service was the worse I have ever experienced anywhere, for anything!

The staff member that I dealt with was incompetent. I was at the store for almost an hour. I was charged twice because he could not figure out hown to get me refund after charging me an extra $60. He did not know how to use the computer system. He created a new order for me and did it incorrectly. Also when I tried calling the store before arriving the phone number went straight to a voicemail that had no message explaining that it was Uhaul.

My reservation was for 1 pm which I was on time however the guy assisting everyone has messed up someones order & I had to wait until 1:45 to be assisted. I informed the young man that my movers would be meeting me at 2 & I did the express checkout online so my information should be ready. It wasn't ready, I had to wait over 30 minutes because he kept messing up my order. He didn't have the insurance or Dolly information I requested & stated he doesn't know why the computer wouldn't add it but he'd add it later. I requested a manager & he stated he's the manager & his brother was an owner & that he'd be upset if I wanted to make an complaint. I still wanted to speak with the owner & he denied me. I asked him about the promo regarding getting $50 if my reservation wasn't on time & he didn't have any information for me. He gave me his name as Joe however he signed Robert on my receipt. He was too busy trying to talk to the person I was with to get anything right! I wasn't given any return information and Upon returning the truck I had to ring the bell several times to get an answer. This was the worst experience with uhaul I've ever encountered & I would still like to speak with the owner. I would not recommend Promo Kings to anyone because the customer service I received was HORRIBLE!

Scheduled a 11am pick up. Got the truck at 7pm. Moving is sgressful enough. Said there would be a $50 rebate, but I still payed full price, and was told, "I don't know how you get that." Avoid this location and don't chance additional problems. Just go to Ferndale.

I rented a 5’x9’ open utility trailer on Saturday (8/27/16) from the Oak Park, Michigan facility and returned it on Sunday (8/28/16) to the Niles, Ohio facility. I was expecting to pay $55 + tax ($58.30) for this rental (same as I paid for renting the identical trailer from the Troy, Michigan facility to the Niles, Ohio facility on 7/14/16). I looked on-line this morning and saw that $92.22 was charged to my discover card. The paper work I received from the Oak Park facility did not indicate any rental amount. When I got to the Oak Park facility on Saturday (8/27) at 11:40am, I was told that the trailer was not available because I was not there by 10:00am, then I was told that their computer was down. The young man there then said that the system was back up and we could get the trailer. I was never asked about signing a waiver for extra insurance (I’m guessing that is the difference between the $58.30 and the $92.22 that I was charged). I did not want the additional insurance as you can verify from the last two times I rented trailers from the Troy, Michigan facility….on 5/26/16 and 7/14/16. Please help resolve this issue. Thanks,

I confirmed with the guy working on Thursday that he would be there at 8 AM the next day. he said yes. we got there at 8 AM the next day and he was not there. We waited for 20 min. and finally called him and he was clearly still sleeping. He did not arrive until 8:40 AM. He gave me $20.00 off for having to wait for him since he was sleeping in bed. I was told the gas tank was 1/2 full, when we got in it was on Empty. The guy told me via I would receive a $20.00 credit if I filled the tank 1/2 way. Filling the truck 1/2 way is much more than $20.00 and we only drove the truck 41 miles. It makes no sense for us to fill it half way and give him extra gas. I checked my credit card and we never received our $20.00 credit, which is how much gas we put in. The man was SHADY and unprofessional. I would never use this location ever again and do not suggest anyone else does. The back of the truck wasn't swept out either.

I may not consider doing uhaul again. When I was booking on line, I picked up a certain drop off location. When I went to receive the car, I asked the guy there if he can change the drop off to "any location" and he said no problem. However, when I took it to the nearest place they didn't take it. Tbey tried to help by calling customer service, I talked on the phone also, and the guy I was talking with me was so un-u derstanding, poor communication, and he just said i can't change the drop off location. Very unpleasant experience
