Although I was told I would be given an extra day free of charge, it was not annotated on my paperwork and this off place charged me the extra days rental. Could not get any help from whomever works here, never in attendance at the window. I contacted U-Haul to dispute, who informed me they had reached out to the place I rented it from, Jeff Key Motors, to verify the extra free day, with no response. So, I wasn't too happy with that. Make sure everything is annotated on your contract

It's a dump. Sign said be back in 15 mins and people were right behind the sign and wouldn't acknowledge. Remove them from association with you U-Haul!!!
The guy working at this location told me that Uhaul had to call them to let them know I was picking up the truck. I stepped outside to call Uhaul and he locked me out of the hotel. After Uhaul called him, he came out and gave me a key. I asked which truck it was and he said I don't know and proceeded to walk back in the hotel and locked the door. I didn't complete any paperwork and was charged more than the quote I was given plus a coverage charge of $85 although I had chosen not to purchase coverage.
The hotel appears to be undergoing a renovation. It looked a little shady. I would not want to drop a Uhaul truck there at night time.

The staff at this location told us this was a drop off point only which caused a lot of unnecessary confusion. We paid for two utility dollies and got only one appliance dolly which was too large and cumbersome for what we needed so we didn't use it. We also paid for a dozen furniture pads and got no furniture pads at all. Our experience at this location was terrible and I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone.
After completing a reservation and check-in online, I was expecting a pretty quick pick up process, but it took almost an hour. Brenda, the clerk at the Magnuson Hotel was very helpful and friendly, however it was her second day on the job and she had not been trained on how to handle a truck pick-up (she thought they were only a drop-off location. After making multiple calls to various U-haul numbers, she was able to find someone (Willie) that was able to help her. The truck had not been cleaned out after the last person rented it - I found trash and a cell phone in the cab (which I returned to Brenda). I also had to sweep out the back as there were leaves and trash in there.

The people at the "hotel" claimed that their uhaul service was not open on Saturday. We waited for 20 minutes in the motel lobby for service. No one was there. I had to leave the office and wander around the motel until I found someone. They had no idea what they were doing. We had to find the keys. The truck was filthy. There were roaches in it along with 36 moving blankets strewn in the back and a dolly we didn't ask for. There were leaves and debris everywhere and an apartment application from a previous customer that had social security numbers on it!!!! The people at the Maguson Hotel ( I use that term loosely) were completely incompetent. They were very nice once I found them, but they had no idea what they were doing. It took us 1.5 hours to get the truck which we had reserved online four days earlier. Unacceptable. I contacted corporate and expect some sort of refund. I left this location in tears.
I had reserved a hand truck when placing my order for this truck. There was not a hand truck available at pick up. The reservationist did take it off my bill and she did check at the location, as well as on the truck, to see if they did have one. Did not have this.
Sue, my CSR at Phoenix, AZ call center, was absolutely, hand's down, amazing! She was very kind, cheery, and I legitimately enjoyed talking with her. Honestly. I'd love to sit and have a beer with her, she was that personable. Give her a raise, keep someone like that in your company. Best CSR I have had in years. Make her a manager or trainer.
Easy drop off
This place is stupid. I told them when I reserved the truck that it was a one way trip to Iowa. So I went to go pick up the truck she asked when I was going to return the truck I said I am going to Iowa I will return it up there. So she "fixed it" and said that she changed it to a one way. So on the day it was supposed to be given to uhaul up in Iowa. She calls me asking when I will come to return it to Alabama. I told her that I am in Iowa for the third time. So I called corporate to fix the problem they where supposed to have fixed it. So I return it to the location here in Marion Iowa. And thought my problems where over at this point but it isn't. Here's a way to improve customer satisfaction for the opileka location close it down. Unprofessional and they take advantage of you.

Overall, this was a HORRIBLE experience with renting from UHaul. I reserved the truck a week in advance at a location just minutes from where I would be loading my stuff, but was informed the night before that I would be picking up the truck at a location 20 minutes away. This was very inconvenient since I was driving three hours to make this move. When I picked up the truck, I was told that I could drop the truck off at "a location most convenient to me", so I selected that option. I was informed, in yet ANOTHER email, that I had to turn the truck in at a different location, which meant making another trip to turn the truck in. I have used UHaul in the past and have had no problems. However, this will be the VERY LAST TIME that I ever use UHaul again!!
First, someone rented a vehicle in my name. Took two days to straighten out. No phone call or any compensation for my time or schedule. I won't be renting from your company again
Since there was a charge for additional mileage, credit should be give for leaving the truck half full, when 1/4 was noted for return. Also I was called 3 Times asking what location I'd dropped the truck. It was left where I was instructed to by uhaul. Seemed to me the drop point should have been called and asked was the truck dropped at that the directed location.
1. They gave me a truck a way bigger than I have requested and they never told me that it would be hard to drive. 2. The fuel tank was at 3/4 when I checked it and told the employee about the case she told me just returned it back as it is and this what I did. Then I was shocked that they charged me for the fuel.
HAVE MORE EQUIPMENT ON SITE.
This dealer should not represent u haul in any form. If I need equipment in the future, I do not plan to use uhaul .i suggest this location be removed as a dealer for the company.
The site is an old hotel and not easy to recognize from the highway as a Uhaul business. It is right off the interstate exit and mixed in with a lot of other business. Only a couple trucks on site parked off to the side by Waffle House.
The young lady at the front desk was very nice.
Back door was opened when picked up so the bed was very dirty with dust from the nearby hwy. Information confirmed with the pick up I had requested, was not applied
Truck was really bad. Headlights did not work. Oil pressure warning light went off half way on my trip. The key did not work to lock the cab doors. This truck needs serious maintenance. Would like a refund or credit on future rental if possible!
The staff was generous and provided me with current rates and unknown answers. Overall, outstanding! :)
