Went to pick up the vehicle at the booked time. Because of Covid I called so I didn't have to go in and spend too much time inside. The man that answered the phone had no idea what I was saying and told me to call uhaul and hung up on me. Decided to just go inside it took them 15 mins to figure it out. Go to the truck when it's completely covered in snow, the back of the truck is filthy from the last people. By the looks of the reviews uhaul should not let this location run.

I booked a truck with Uhaul for a one-way move, and they called me at 5:30 pm the night before to tell me I had to drive 2 hours to pick up a truck because they didn't have any where I booked it. One way moves should not be confusing or novel for a moving company, I don't understand why it's so hard to know where your trucks will be and when. It was too last minute for me to book anything else, and added so much extra stress and time to the night before/morning of my move (when I needed to be focused on packing and prepping). Not only this, but in calling customer service, everyone I talked to was very insensitive and I even got hung up on (!) by the woman I was speaking to. I have never had a worse experience with customer service in my life. I finally got on the phone with someone who was moderately understanding, and found me a truck slightly closer (albeit still over an hour away each direction to pick up). That's a pretty low bar, to have some semblance of sympathy and do some moderate problem solving. The timing of moves are too important to be treated like this, I won't be using Uhaul for big moves in the future.
Drop off location was changed last minute and out of the way. Only way to tell was Uhaul drop off was because a uhaul trailer was in the back. Clerk did not wear mask for Covid. Clerk asked for picture of mileage and tank. I asked him to confirm everything or for paper confirming drop off and condition he said no he would look at it later. No official paperwork...he wrote mileage and gas on back of a random receipt. Received an email that I was charged for 2 extra days when I dropped the truck off the same day I picked it up.
That was the 2nd time in2 months that I had problems with my uhaul reservation. Both times I did not receive the equipment I reserved. Yes I did receive a call the day before stating the equipment would be different..at that point, it is TOO late to make other arrangements. Also providing alternative pick up/ drop off locations last minute resulted in HUGE inconveniences and added expense and time. I do not understand why, upon reservation, these details cannot be made. This past use, I reserved over the phone and STILL was sent outside my area of reservation. U haul cannot be responsible for a customer returning equipment late but uhaul IS responsible for promising equipment reserved at time of booking..or offer something else AT THE TIME OF BOOKING!!!!!!
I rented a 10' truck from the Palmerston location today. It was the worst experience from start to finish that I have ever had renting a uhaul!!! Never again. I started by calling to inquire about pricing and availability the night before. Had to call back twice as they were busy making pizza and couldn'thelp me. When I did call back she didn't know what they had that was available. So I decided to go in this morning to speak with someone hoping it would be easier. When I asked about the trailer and truck that they had out back. She was not aware of what was out there or what they had available. When she found everything in the system finally it took an hour to get everything put through. Finally done that part. Got the vehicle did what I had to and returned it. Upon return was told she could not go near the truck because of Covid 19. So I had to go take a picture of mileage and bring it in to her so I did. Then she told me i had to call uhaul myself and tell them the truck was returned on time. Her reasoning was again because of Covid 19 she couldn't make the call. So I took the number and called it was wrong number was given another number. Phoned it and finally got the billing all sorted as we used less mileage then she originally put in. I do understand precautions have to be made because of Covid. My concern is she isn't allowed to go near the truck so the trucks aren't being sanitized between customers. Which wasn't hard to tell because it wasn't cleaned from the person before us his receipt was still in the console and dirt throughout the cab. I have rented from a young guy in Palmerston previously and had a great experience. But NEVER again after today. So stressful!!!

Worst service of any U-Haul I have rented. Took them 1 hr to figure out how to rent it to me. The rental was 4pm to 4pm following day. U-Haul called me and told me. Could pick it up anytime after 11. I arrived at 11am was out by noon. Returned it 4 pm today and they want to charge me for another day? I refused to pay them and would like customer service to call me direct so I can file a formal complaint againr this location.

I had rented a 15ft truck from the Harriston location earlier in the week however when I arrived Saturday morning they did not have a 15ft tuck and therefore I had to rent from palmerston which is a lot further away costing me more money for travel than I had planned so wasn't very happy that UHAUL did not have a 15ft ready for me at harriston location even though i had reserved well in advance!

The person who helped me did not even know how to hitch up the 5x8 box trailer hitch and chains. I had to show him how the hitch was to be secured. I was told by the Guelph Speedvale location that I could have been pulled over for improper chain instalment. Also, the Speedvale site is superb but seems at times to be under staffed. All else went well. Thanks for the extra day because living in Guelph, I had to go to Palmerston to get it.
The back of truck was all covered in dirt, had to sweep it out before we even got it and did not receive our 25 dollars back after cleaning out when we were done which made no mess at all because our stuff was nice and clean, will not use this location again!

Make your website easier to use so the local dealers don't have to take an hour to complete a contract and also make your website easier to use to make a reservation to reduce the time it takes to pick up equipment.
Staff was unhelpful. Serviced 6 gas station customers who came after me while I stood and waited and took 2 phone call which were likely personal based on the language that was spoken. Was not at all helpful with the order and did not seem to know what was going on. I asked for a different drop off location 3 times the he booked my drop off at a location that was locked and gated after hours.
you need more u haul places .other then that thank goodness you have the palmerston one.
They were not knowledgeable. Stopped serving us to wait on other customers. They had trouble using the system.
make drop off closer to home...make sure returning u haul..someone is there to give you your money back...to save driving twice to drop off location...and call people who rented the u haul before putting the cheque in the mail...
I received a text telling me to call a number to confirm the booking, which I did, and he confirmed that I could pick the truck up at 8am. I then had a call from a number, not from Palmerston, and he told me I could not pick up at 8am. What about the mobile phone ap that the website tells me I can use? I then told him I spoke with Palmerston and they said I could pick up at 8am. The guy did not know what he was talking about and only caused confusion. When we went to pick up the vehicle, the clerk at the store did not know anything, including where the keys were (they were in the unlocked truck). The guy at the store wanted me to sign the contract saying how much gas was in the vehicle and the mileage without me even seeing the truck, which I did not do. He did not at anytime check our licences or verify our identity. We booked at Palmerston as it was the closest for us and therefore would cost the least in mileage, but it was terrible. I had ordered 20 furniture pads, and they were not in the truck, and the guy at the pickup had no idea and said they did not have anything like that. It was like he just had no idea, and worst of all did not give a crap about the service. I would review allowing this location to use your name and have them represent Uhaul. It was terrible from the booking to the return. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
