Dear U-Haul....I am a frequent user of your trailers, but yesterday we had an issue with a 6 x 12 trailer we rented from the Trackside Thrift Mall (U-Haul #1240). We live just a short distance away from this facility and I've used their services before without issue, so I went there again. We needed the trailer for use on Sunday to move some furniture. The U-Haul representative at Trackside Thrift Mall is not available on Sunday, so I had to pick up the trailer on Saturday and would return it on Sunday. From discussions with the representative, it was my understanding that I could return the trailer anytime at all on Sunday since the U-Haul portion of the business was closed that day. On Sunday morning, pulling the U-Haul trailer, we merged onto Highway 80 and as we hit 45 mph the trailer suddenly started bouncing to the point where I had to slow down to around 30 mph before it would settle down. I could see in my rear view mirror that the left-front wheel was either bent or out of balance. We drove back to Phenix City and went to our local Walmart to see if they could re-balance the wheel, they said they were not supposed to touch rented equipment. The technician did offer to check the air pressure in the tires, and when he put his gage on the valve stem it "max'd out".....showing over 100 psi (it is supposed to be 65 psi). He reduced the pressure to the specified amount, and suggested we get on the road and see if the issue is better, so we once again got into the highway, but the bouncing occurred again right at 45 mph. So with no other choice we went back to Trackside Thrift Mall and waited for them to open (their Sunday hours are 1pm to 6pm. We went inside and told the attendant about our situation with the trailer, and he then contacted the U-Haul representative - but couldn't reach her directly and had to leave a message. She called back around 1:30 or so, we discussed the issue, but since she was not there and didn't have access to the computer - we couldn't switch to another trailer. So I unhitched the defective trailer, and we left to go to another U-Haul facility located in Columbus, GA on Box Road (U-Haul #779068)....to get another trailer. Today we called the Trackside Thrift Mall to request we get a refund, but the lady refused...saying that we had the trailer for the contracted time, which is from 11/24/18 @ 10:44am to 11/25/18 @ 10:00am. The trailer was not usable in the condition we received it, this is verifiable by the Walmart Technician we met with, who said the tire was dangerously over-inflated. So we waited until Trackside Thrift Mall opened up, so we could explain our situation, and unfortunately this did put us past the “return time” noted in the paperwork. It is not right that we have to pay for a trailer that we could not use, so I am requesting a refund of $39.09. Please let me know your views on this....thank you for your time. Have the equipment in proper working order do I dont have to wait for the service guy to come fix it. I had a lot of things to do other than attempt to work on equipment myself and then wait for service.

I was charged a whole day for the truck and dolly being 2 hours late but still had to return both. I don’t think that’s good business. It should have been prorated or I should have kept it another day. Rude owner. I rather carry my items on my back and walk the 111 mile to my next location rather than go back to this location.

The service was great. The people were very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, and maybe this was due to the last clients who used the truck, the truck was infested with roaches! I literally had to spray the inside of the truck, let it air out, and clean it, before I could use it. I've never seen that many roaches!!! There were baby roaches, pregnant roaches, everywhere! Outside of that the truck drove great.

This was the worst experience with U-haul EVER. U-haul called me that morning to ask me to come in early to pick up my truck. I arrived on time and had to wait 2.5 hours for my truck. The shop owner was great, but the truck was turned in bone dry, not cleaned, smoked in and body odor. I will switch back to Penske.

I was extremely frustrated that I wasn’t able to pick up my uhaul from Auburn. I had reserved online for a pick up at 8:00am, but I got a phone call the next day saying that wasn’t possible. After receiving a confirmation email and text. I ended up having to drive 45 minutes to Phenix City to pick up my uhaul at 4:30pm, which isn’t there fault but uhaul’s. Then drive 45 minutes back. I didn’t even get into Birmingham until 10:00 pm. I should have been able to get all of my moving done the day of renting. Now, I have a charge of $6.30 for having 15.4 extra miles. If anything I should be getting a refund for the extra miles I drove from Phenix City.

We were not happy with your record keeping systems as they accused us Of not returning a utility equipment. Now I'm dealing with a payment you supposedly have not received yet it is put in my credit card and this threats of sending me to collection I am extremely angry about this

The lady was outside checking a truck in when I pulled in. She checked me in right there on the spot. She was very friendly, courteous, and business like. We checked the truck in together and I was on my way without ever entering the facility. Spot on!

When the reservation was set up at 1800gouhaul, the reserved a truck within an establishment that doesn't rent uhauls on Wednesdays at all. They originally advised me to go to a different location. However after explaining I drove 3hours and was picking up furniture from my deceased father apartment, they managed to figure out how to do a rental.

Had a truck reserved for 12:00pm showed up and they were helping a customer, which is fine with me. 1st come 1st serve but there were times where she could have atleast started getting our rental ready. Because the other customer wasn't ready, and he didn't do anything online prior to his visit. So there was alot of time I was waiting for him to get his rental ready. When it came to my turn, she was speedy and did everything right. But we still lost our time at that point. That's the whole reason I used the app. The inside of the truck was disgusting but I didn't dispute it because I was ready to go. Took a good half hour of waiting.
