My entire experience was pretty bad. I asked to do a pick up at the UHaul on 25 Deadwood Ave Rapid City, SD on July 13, 2017 at 5 pm. On the 21st, I was not notified of this location so I headed to the address around 5:30 pm because I was running late. The guy that was working told me that they changed pick up to the new address, but they said that the new place could be closed since their site listed 5 there. So he had to contact the new location to make sure that someone was there. When we arrived at the place, the place looked rundown and looked like they were doing the U-Haul thing on the side. The guy looked like he was being inconvenienced and left as soon as he barely shown how to use the equipment. He didn't have a dolly or blankets that I requested and so I had to drive back to 25 Deadwood Ave. The entire experience was terrible. No one was organized and felt that no one wanted to help me at this location. This kinda set the tone that I will probably ask a different moving company.

I will never utilize u haul services again and I will not recommend it to anyone needing to move. To start my experience, I called what i thought was the main uhaul store in the area in Rapid City SD. They took my reservation around 2 weeks before the move.I arrived at the store the day of my move and attempted to pick up the trailer, I was told my reservation was though Honest auto witch was 3 miles away. When I told them I had called the hub store specifically so I didn't have to worry about faulty equipment I was informed if they dont answer the phone in 3 rings it goes to a traffic center and they must have just scheduled it though Honest auto. I asked about just using one of there 9 other 12x6 they had in the lot I was told "they must all be rented". I then proceeded to Honest auto when I arrived at the time my reservation was and was told the gentleman that does our uhaul trailers was gone for 30 mins and he wasn't sure how to do it. I wait 30 mins, when he came back we started the pick up process. Once completed with the paperwork we went out and hook the trailer up after I did a walk around (because person from honest auto failed to) I noticed the rear driver side tire was low. I asked them if they could fill it up, they agreed and began to fill it. when they started filling it I could immediately hear air hissing from the tire, after further inspection we found a rock had torn through the tire and it was purging air. The gentleman at honest auto told me id have to tow it back to the main hub store 3 miles away so they could change the tire. With no other choice I drove it back and after 20 mins had a new tire. This ended up Putting me over an hour behind schedule To put it bluntly for $800 more I could have bought a trailer and next time I will and I will recommend to any other person to do the same.
