Hello, What a terrible experience. It was my first time renting from an authorized dealer instead of a U-Haul branch — big mistake, it’s not the same service. First, your website shows a different opening time than the dealer’s actual hours, so we had to wait for an hour before being redirected to another location, only to then be sent back to the first one. You refunded us $50 for this inconvenience, thank you. However, we had rented a 20-foot truck, but we later realized it was actually a 16-foot one, since you include the “Mom’s Attic” in the total length — which is not clearly stated on your website. This confusion cost us a lot of time adjusting our shipment. We were supposed to fit 8 pallets, but we couldn’t, and had to unload and reorganize everything, further delaying us after the morning fiasco. The vehicle smelled strongly of cat litter, and we were also unfairly charged for fuel — in my opinion — since the gauge was already unclear when we picked it up. Overall, an experience to forget. We would like to request compensation for the truck size (which was not truly 20 feet), the nauseating odor in the vehicle, and the poor customer service from this authorized dealer. christiane@el-co.ca

Ahmed AHello, I’m writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent truck rental experience. I had reserved a 20-foot truck at the La Prairie branch for 9:00 a.m. When I arrived, there was no one on site. After spending nearly 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service, I was informed that the truck was not available and was advised to go to the Saint-Hubert branch. Once there, the person in charge told me that the 20-foot truck also wasn’t available due to battery issues. After losing another hour, I had no choice but to take a 15-foot truck instead. As a result, I had to pay my laborers for an additional 3 hours ($300) and lost a total of 3 hours of my own time. This experience caused me significant inconvenience and additional costs. I strongly believe U-Haul should compensate me for the extra time and expenses incurred due to these service failures.
