We placed our order online and UHaul changed the original pickup location we requested to this one. Since ours was a "One Way" order, a limited number of miles were included in the price of the truck. And, since this location was further away from the one we preferred, it used more of our included miles. When we arrived at this location, a gas station, there was only one UHaul truck there. The only attendant didn't speak or understand English other than a few words. He didn't understand us and all we could understand from him was that he was "new". He clearly didn't know what to do. He finally called a "friend" on his cell phone and went outside and took a picture of the odometer and gas guage. While still on the phone, he said "driver's license?" to us. We gave him one of ours and he took a picture of it. Then he handed us the key. I asked him about paperwork and he just shook his head and indicated that was all. I then asked for blankets, as we had decided we were probably going to need a few. Again, the attendant had a difficult time understanding and vice versa so he called his friend again and told us "no blankets". At that point, we decided to leave as we had people waiting to load the truck. When we started it up, we saw there was hardly any gas in it, definitely not enough to get us to our destination so we had to gas up before pulling out of the gas station. Also, there were drink bottles and other trash in the parking lot. We had to climb under the truck to remove two bottles, one plastic and one glass, so we wouldn't drive over them. Other than the one truck in the parking lot, there was nothing that would indicate this was a UHaul location. The lack of knowledgeable, English speaking staff and the lack of supplies and paperwork made for a very frustrating and stressful experience!
