I tried to use the mobile check in application, but it failed at the step where I was supposed to take a photo of myself. I wasn't able to take the photo on my iPhone SE and couldn't get past that step. Fortunately, the person working there was very friendly and quickly completed the check in manually.

The truck I reserved was not at the location. I was sent to two different locations before obtaining a smaller sized van. This made the move take two days instead of one. The lady at the Freedom location was extremely rude. She said the truck not being there was "not her problem" and never apologized for the inconvenience. She said she is not U-haul. I would recommend getting rid of the Freedom location as a provider for your company. I will try U-haul one more time, but will no longer if I re-encounter any of the issues from the last move.

My 17’ truck was not at my reserved location. I was referred to a different location and the process delayed my timeline for my move. U-Haul phone service was quick to respond and handle the situation. The attendant did not seem to know how to handle the mishap at first.

the ramp in back was not latched and came out 6+ feet while driving to my first stop. It was very scary to think what might have happened if I were going any further.

The vehicle was well maintained, but a bit dirty. It had bark chips in the back, some garbage under the seats and in one of the cup holders. This isn't quite what I would call clean, but not super dirty. This is the second time I've found garbage behind the seats in a Uhaul Van this year. Maybe instruct your employees to check there.

I only noticed 2-3 trailers and trucks, so inventory is limited. It was difficult to communicate with the employees, so the pick up (which was pretty good) and the drop off took a while. This location did not connect the trailer to my truck, which I've experienced elsewhere. The trailer wasn't dirty on the inside, but the outside was caked with mud and generally unclean. The tires were barely ok.

Afternoon shift person at Sam's entered the mileage wrong when I returned it and overcharged me. I drove 28 miles and the fee should have been $57.59 and instead I was charged over $1200 dollars. He tried to correct it and I ended up getting charged another 57 dollars as he stated I had the truck for two days when I had returned it the same day. Very disappointed with the afternoon staffing quality as I had to spend a lot of my time correcting the mistakes he made.

Well, terrible experience at first as the UHaul at Holiday Smog had rented my 16' truck to another person before I arrived and before the 9 am open time. I was told to go to the other location in Soquel to get the only available truck, 10' ft which was only available to 2 hours. Very nice man helped me there but there was no excuse for my moving day being turned upside down to incompetence at Holiday Smog location. I feel that I should not have to pay for the 2 hours in the 10' truck.

The rental people were inept...never did give me a receipt, asked for a second credit card for some reason and told me the u haul web site was down for days. I rented in a Monday for 2 hours and had to call the 800 number to get the rental resolved. I finally received my receipt on Saturday, 5 days after the rental. I would NEVER rent from this location again or recommend it to anyone.

Truck, especially windshield was completely covered in dead bugs. Location was out of mattress pads even though we ordered them weeks ahead of time. Otherwise everything else was fine.

This truck was fairly dusty inside.The windshield was very dirty and window washer fluid alert indicated there none in the reservoir to be used to clean it. The U Haul reps I spoke with on the phone were very helpful.

The attendant said he was new and knew nothing about u-haul and could not answer any questions. When we reviewed the contract and asked him to remove the SafeMove charge, he insisted that SafeMove was a deposit that will be reimbursed when we returned the truck. When we asked him to contact u-haul office, he said he didn't know how and refused to help. We had to sign the contract with the charge to get the truck. We felt cheated as we did not know if we will get our money back. This was absolutely unacceptable but we had no option as we had to move today.

I have reserved a truck week ago, and one day before my scheduled date, the custom service called me that the truck will be guaranteed at a different location. Even though it's 10 mins more drive to there, I'm happy if I can get my truck on time. But when I got there, they told me there is no truck and there's nothing they can do. I called customer three times and went to 2different locations just to find a avalilable truck. Horrible experience. Avoid U-Haul in Santa Cruz.

Give me a receipt for the rental--at least, tell me or show me the final and total charge. Attendant interrupted what he was doing for me for another customer and promised to send a receipt within the hour. Two days later, I have received no receipt. I need to know what I was charged!!!

First of all, the Uhaul truck that we had reserved wasn't available when we went to pick it up. The last renter hadn't returned it yet, and there were no other trucks available in the entire county. We had to wait 8 hours for another truck, which pushed our move out 2 days! Horrible experience, but it was NOT the locations fault. Uhaul OVERBOOKS, and does not have enough trucks to guarantee renters at the time of their reservation. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. We won't be using Uhaul again. The only thing wrong with this location was that the main guy behind the desk didn't speak much English and it was very difficult communicating.
