Have a clean safe environment to drop truck off and a place to leave truck. Establishment had so many cars and junk around it looked like a salvage yard.
The place opened at 8 and the guy didn't show up till 8:45. Also when I picked it up the window was down so it had moisture inside the windshield that I had to clean. And I got charged a cleaning fee when I dropped it off and it was spotless
I received a text confirmation and email confirmation for my pickup. When I arrived the place was closed. The customer service agent (after a half hour wait on the phone) cancelled that reservation, rather than transfer and find me a truck, this resulted in a high priced last minute new reservation which was another half hour away. After another 30 minute drive to a new location, the dispatch agent could not get the paperwork done. Operating off an iPhone with bad connectivity the person had to try 3 times to reenter my information down the contact numbers, address, etc which was already done online. We were nearly an entire day late leaving and after calling UHaul again and reaching customer service, I filed a customer dispute. With a reference number for that as well, I have not received any correspondence back regarding this incident. I have called again and restated the entire circumstance again, as I guess they are not making any notes in the file. I still await an answer and am still awaiting to see if we have any penalty from the school we were moving out of late. This was a fiasco. Uhaul should not have confirmed my reservation by both text and email to a location that was closed. Uhaul should have rectified the mistake by making another pickup smooth. Uhaul should have compensated us for the lost time and trouble, or at the very least given us a discount on the charge of the original rental. When I made my reservation I was planning on moving across the country. However, there were no available trailers for rental within a 3 hour radius of NYC. I had no other options as it was to late to schedule movers within 24 hours of my move, thus causing me to drive 3 hours one way (6 total) in order to pick up a trailer in order to make my cross country move. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will most likely never use Uhaul again because of this reservation process.
Convenient Sunday pick up and drop off. No problems at all
We were informed the originally selected location was not available as they only do round trips, (ours was a one way). We should have been informed of this when making the reservation. When we arrived, the truck was not ready, and there was no hand cart available, (which we paid extra for). We were instructed to go to a different location to pick up the hand cart. Our reservation was for 9am, we did not have all the correct equipment until well after 10am.
Horrible experience. Waiting 3 hrs to get my truck after hours. Cal representive who spend 1hr on phone with, we were disconnected and she never contested us back: lost money due to movers being unable to move items
You had to call the people because they were not there and then try to find a place to park it in there junk yard
