This experience was 50% pleasing to me as a customer. The associate that checked me out originally was very helpful along with the manager . The lady I spoke with on Monday kept me on hold for over an hour, never to return. The assistant manager had my bill all off . He charged a cleaning fee despite the back of the uhaul being empty and did not tell me he charged it until I questioned my bill twice due to absurd miscalculations of my invoice. The Dollie never worked and I was still charged everyday i had it despite me mentioning that the Dollie didn't work and almost damaged my refrigerator by the straps failing to stay tight. I was very displeased overall but would say that the general manger was very helpful as my wife was hospitalized which had me keep the truck two extra days.
Everyone was really friendly and helpful. It was a nice experience.
Fast clean professional customer service
The Employees were very Nice, but the issues that they were having seem to be beyond their Control. First the Online System wouldn't let me place a reservation so I had to Call & hold the phone for nearly 15 minutes. Once I placed the reservation I was told I could check in online to help Speed up the Process when picking up the Truck ( it was Down). I arrived the day of my reservation ( which was actually@ the Detroit location on 7 mile near Can Dyke) only to find the ONLY employee in the Store Completely overwhelmed. She Stated the she apologies for the delay but none 15 or 17' trucks hadn't been checked in & She wasn't Even Sure if the were even in the lot ( there was no one else there to help her but she Truly was Trying). I Then Left that Location to go the Location in Warren(on Groesbeck) The Employees there were a little Overwhelmed also. While Finalizing the transaction, I was told I would receive a text with a link to verify the Gas & Milage. Once Giving the Truck I informed the Employee that I didn't get the Text So She got Back in Truck to Double Check & Realize that both the Gas & Milage was Way Off of What was on the printout. So She Took Note of it & also took pictures to put in my file.Two Days After Returning the Truck I checked my bank statement only to find that I was Charged an extra $50. Of Course I Called in about It but was told I had to go back up to the Store. Once Again the Employee was Very nice About the Situation but he was Clearly Overwhelmed too. It Seems if though U-Haul Does have Some Hard Working Employees in the Store but Something need to be Change in the Ladder between Corporate & the Actual Store because this was a complete nightmare!!
When they went to show me the unit there was broken glass all over the floor. I asked the attendant if it would be cleaned up in a couple of hours when I planned on returning to use the unit and it was.
They could be nicer, actually talk to their customers. I don't know maybe give me the dolly I ordered.
Better prices! I'm ery unhappy that I was charged an additional 26.53 for mileage. That's expensive and not right being 0.79 cents a mile.
Deshawn Kinard was a very helpful young man, he very patient also he made sure I understood everything before leaving the lot. I truly appreciate Deshawn I would send family and friends to Deshawn he has awesome customer service.
I made a reservation but they did not have a truck for me. They said everything was overbooked. Ended up waiting 40 minutes and getting a 26 ft truck (way too huge). Should have gotten a discount for gas.
I cannot say enough good things about the online check in and check out process. I was able to bypass a very long line, and I didn't have to put the guys to work for checking out. The only thing I can say is to possibly have more customer parking available. But of course it was a Saturday which I'm sure is the busiest day.

I reserve my truck on line and you mobile pick up and which I thought was supposed to be a faster and more convenient service. I was completely wrong. I ended up waiting One and a half hours for pick up because the truck that we reserved was not even on site. Once we finally got home we realize that the equipment that we paid for was not on the truck so we have to go all the way back using mileage and fuel, in order to pick it up. It gets worse. When it was time to return the truck we waited another hour just to drop off. This is very poor service. The attendance were courteous and helpful but understaffed which makes it very inconvenient for customers.

I was not happy with the guy who got into the truck with me when I brought it back. He got very personal and acted as if he knew me asking about my dog etc. The when he went to look at the gas mileage he scooted right next to me physically touching shoulder to shoulder with me. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional and I will not use that location or reccomend it for that reason.
I was charged for gas when I should not have. When I got in the vehicle the gas amount did not match up with what was documented. The guy changed it on my copy and signed it but must not have noted it on his end. Also, I was told it was .79 cents a mile and was charged .99 cents! I have been moving and sleep deprived for days and do NOT have time to deal with this on top of everything else. Not to mention, moving is costly and I don't have a penny to spare. I have never had this issue with Uhaul before and I'm very unsatisfied. I'm praying this doesn't become a huge hassle and will be resolved with just a phone call, which is already annoying enough. Not to mention, customer service was very poor at this location. I waited for at least 15-20 minutes after my reservation time and was never greeted or acknowledged, nor told sorry about the wait. Just an all around poor experience.
I put $15 gas into the truck and drove 48.8 miles. The truck was returned with a quarter tank of gas as it was provided to me. We even took pictures of both the mileage and fuel gauge when we returned it after hours. When we got the billing, we were told that they had to put $13 of gas in and also charged us a $30 fee to do it. I called U-haul and told them how ridiculous this was and that they needed to look at the photos we provided to see that I returned the truck with the same amount of fuel as provided to me. I was told by the representative that I would receive a call shortly, but no one returned my call. I am completely enraged by many aspects of this situatio: 1. The $30 fee is amoral and unethical. It is taking advantage of a situation simply because of a company's GREED. 2. I took photos which show the tank at the level it was provided. 3. 99 cents per mile is ridiculous as well. 4. No one has returned my call regarding my complaint. 5. There is no way possible that U-haul staff had to put $13 into the truck's gas tank after I put $15 in myself. I think this is an out right LIE. And that hoped I would not question or look at the billing. 6. I have already reserved another moving truck for this Thursday with U-haul before this ordeal. Which I will cancel if I am not contacted by the end of day on Monday. I am not impressed with how this whole matter was handled, how I have had to chase to get down to the truth of this matter - Being left waiting to hear back from another U-haul rep all afternoon and evening. You asked how my experience was. I rate the customer service poorly. I call out the person who CLAIMS THEY HAD TO PUT $13 OF GAS INTO THE TANK! We use U-haul often, but this has left a VERY FOUL TASTE and makes me question the ethical compass of your company!!!!!!

Truck was in great working order, and was mostly clean. I was a little disappointed that the windows were pretty streaky and hazy, they definitely could have been cleaner. Overall experience was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Listen to customer send them to office when asked instead of a 800 number. Horrible horrible customer service. They ask entirely to much information once you have spoke with them as if they don't have caller ID need name address date of birth this is just to much . I can see asking your name phone number not your birthdate just to ask a question simply ridiculous.
Yes it would help if somewhere on the paperwork it said what kind of gasoline it took regular/unleaded that sort of thing. Then to be shown where the gas actually goes in. Outside of that it was all good, Thank you.
