The van I rented was quite new, easy to drive, and it behaved well on the road. A tiny demerit: the windshield washing fluid was empty, slightly annoying on the wet day I was moving. The self check out of the van took a long time, about 45 minutes. This was so because UHaul needed a secondary contact to answer the phone right during the checkout. This should be stated in the instructions so that the secondary contact can be available at the right time. Also, it would be great if the personnel at the rental place would be familiar with the self check out so that they could give more complete instructions on how it works. My self check out contact, Nicole, was very helpful on the conversation application. But still it took long to get it completed. Dieter Schneider
Not all the dents in truck had marks on them, app kept bugging out when my husband was trying to go through self check in process and customer rep he was dealing with was barely answering questions. Someone who works at mattress place luckily showed up as we were running out of time to meet movers at our place and processed a whole new order for us so we can get going. Thank god he showed up or we wouldn’t have been able to move out in time.

Order was miscommunicated via 1800uhaul and price was 50$ higher than quoted upon drop off. Claim has been filed. Good except for having to pay extra 50$ at time of drop off.

Your web site! I went online to reserve a van. During the course of making my reservation, I ordered mattress bags. The site indicated they would be delivered to me with free shipping. Then I went through the other web site screens (ordering nothing) and at check out, I couldn't figure out why my estimated total was so high. After much back and forth, I finally figured out that U-Haul had automatically added all sorts of moving accessories, so I had to go back through (once again) and cancel them out. OK, that was mildly annoying, but then to add to that, they charged me shipping for the mattress bags. At that point, I just cancelled the bag order. So now I'm ready to reserve my van. The web site suggested that I would save lots of time at pick up if I pre-registered. I did, giving my credit card, phone numbers, and other information. So I got to East End Mattress to pick up my van, and the one intended for me had not been returned. So there was no van -- just trucks, so I switched to a small truck. And all the info I had provided to speed my pick up...well, I had to give all this information AGAIN, and not just once. The poor man working there had to call UHaul, and for some reason he was not getting through to the person on the other end of the phone. I had to give my phone number twice and my credit card number 3 times. It just wasn't computing. Thirty minutes later, I was given the keys to my truck. The good news is that the truck drove beautifully, and the folks at East End Mattress could not have been nicer. The man working there was as frustrated with the process as I was!
