Renting a truck from U-Haul made moving, an already stressful situation, significantly worse. NOTHING was as promised. We planned our move over two weekends and reserved a truck for both weekends. Last weekend the truck wasn't available as promised, lost 2 hours of time, the drop off location was closed and the lockbox unusable, lost another 1.5 hours driving to another location and calling U-Haul trying to determine where to drop off the truck. Had to drive back, over an hour away the next day to return the truck, location was still closed, had to call U-Haul again, drive to another location, wait in a long line, lost another 5 hours. Had to take time off work to prepare for the move to make up for all the time U-Haul wasted, lost 10.5 hours of vacation time. U-Haul offered us a $20 "VIP discount" on the rental for this weekend to compensate us for lost time and money we spent on gasoline. Seriously? Said we would receive a call "from corporate." A week later we are still waiting for that call. Today we received a call from scheduling stating that the truck we reserved for tomorrow is also not available at the time or location we reserved. Spent another 50 minutes on the phone this morning to resolve that. The truck was clean and well maintained and the persons we spoke to each time we called have been kind and pleasant but this experience has been unacceptable. I was hoping last weekend was an anomaly but apparently that was business as usual for U-Haul. I will never ever rent another truck from U-Haul and would never ever recommend using their services.

The gentleman who answered the phone when I called this local store to confirm was very rude and unprofessional! When I picked up the uhaul his demeanor had changed but the initial contact made me switch locations until there was a problem with his card reader and I had to go back

The man said there was 3/8 tank of gas and made us pay before looking at the truck did all paperwork before giving us the keys . Truck only had 1/4 gas pictures to prove it !! We told him he said it would change as we got going down the road , also we paid cash he tried to cheat us out of $20 I had to prove to him with the email that was sent to me he owed us more !! The Would not leave my mother alone followed her to her car when I stoped to see what he was doing he finally stoped and let her leave ... very uncomfortable situation for her and my children . Not happy at all was chatmrges for the extra gas he said was in the truck when I have proff it was not . Will never rent at this location again , very gross and dirty place to do any kind of business !!!!!!

I was very dissatisfied with our experience at the pick up location. We had reserved the truck online over a week prior to picking it up. The truck was not ready when we got there. We had to wait while the helper went out to find a truck that didn't have items in it. The pick up location was not clean nor inviting and the person behind the desk was not professional whatsoever. There literally were clothes laying around inside the shop and random items laying everywhere. We waited for 45 minutes to complete the transaction because of some system problems. The worker proceeded to blame me because I had to use a different card then what was on file so it messed everything up. He referred to the transaction as a nightmare. When I asked him if I should try calling another location to see if they could help me since the system wasn't working he said "sure go right ahead. Won't hurt my feelings one bit". Unfortunately the next nearest location did not have the size of truck we needed to we were forced to continue to wait for him to figure out how to use the system. I called Uhaul to file a complaint and was assured someone would call me. The "manager" didn't even speak to me about the concerns. He sent me an email saying that they would give $50 credit. No apologies for the service received or inconveniences. The man working the desk and the "manager" are great examples of who you should not have working to represent your company if you want to have repeat customers. I certainly will have to think twice before using Uhaul again. These employees made what was an already stressful day even worse and are great examples of who not to hire for a customer service position.

The pickup place was basically a hoarder's nest with U-haul items scattered around and trucks in the parking lot. The man at the counter was nice, but he didn't seem to know how to use the computer, so it took about half an hour to pick up the truck. He was also blasting music so loudly that I had difficulty hearing him. The truck was clean; however, the alignment wasn't correct, which made it difficult to drive. It shook horribly above 55 MPH.
