When I dropped off the truck they said I went over my kilometers and had no record of extra kilometers. When I explained to them what I was told they forgave the overage. All 3 locations I dealt with were excellent. Whoever phoned to arrange pickup screwed up.

I had a horrible experience, first my original location didn't have my truck, was told id get a 50 dollar credit, didn't recive it, I then was then offered free kms to pick up AND return at kenmopunt road, which I did and was charged 139 for a 39 dollar retal and cant get anyone to return my calls

While in the store the phone seemed to be more important than the customer in front of the guy at the counter. When I first entered the store the guy at the desk was already on the phone dealing with a customer (which was fine) and he was on it for 5 minutes or so and he was the only one working at the desk at the time. When he finally got off the phone with the customer he asked how he could help me and as soon as I started to explain what I needed the phone rang again and before I could finish my sentence he interrupted me by saying "sorry this Is my manager, I need to take this" and picked the phone back up and started talking again for another few minutes, then continued to serve me. After I got my trailer fitter to my truck I was walking back in the store and the same guy was on the phone again with a customer leaving us to wait to get served. I think there should be another person on the counter to help alleviate the phone calls and customers in the store and if a customer is already being serves and the phone rings, the phone should wait, not the customer already in the middle of being served. I think it was rude and unacceptable for a business to operate this way.

First, there was a mix-up with which vans came down to the customers, so I had to go back in and sign the same documents for a new van. Then, the fuel level was incorrect so I had to go in and sign all the same documents for a third time. However, throughout all of this the staff were friendly, calm and apologetic - just showing signs of having an overly busy day.

I rented a van for a scheduled pick up of a piece of furniture. The roads were barely plowed as there had been a storm. I wasn't told when I reserved the van it had rear wheel drive and all season tires. If I had, I would have cancelled it the day before pickup as the storm was in full force. The morning of, when I picked it up, 'Adam' informed me of these two things. Thinking I could manage the van, I took it and headed out over Kenmount road. Every stop, I slid. When I got to a small hill just before Booth Highschool, the van couldn't get up it. I was heading to Duckworth street. The van continued to slide and I ended up backing down Freshwater road to a gas station to turn around. I immediately brought the van back saying it wasn't safe to be on the road and asked for my money back. I expected to pay the mileage. I didn't expect to have to pay for the rental as I only had it a half hour and couldn't use the van for the purpose in which I had rented it for. 'Adam' refused my request saying he couldn't refund me but had no issue refunding the packaged moving blankets. How can you improve? Inform the customer the day of booking of the vehicle's details. Had I known this, I would have cancelled the booking the day before when I knew the storm was coming. Change the tires to accommodate the season. All season tires in Newfoundland during the winter is suicide. Noone in their right mind drives with those tires on the car because they're useless in the snow. Be more flexible in a customer's request. It was obvious I hadn't used the van for the purpose I meant to. I had 8 kms on it. It was still clean. The round trip estimate was 30 kms. As a result of this experience, I'm telling my friends, especially through social media, of my experience if I don't get satisfaction from the general manager at the Kenmount store. Not acceptable. Bad customer service Adam.

There was an issue with the gas gage. I was supposed to return the truck half full with gas. However, when I was gassing up the gage wouldn't move to show how much gas was in the tank (I started the engine and it still wouldn't move). I kept putting in gas and eventually the gas gage started to work. I had the tank almost full (I put in almost double the amount of gas). I mentioned this when I returned the truck and they informed me that this is non-refundable. I don't think I should have to pay for the extra gas when the issue with the gas gage was not my fault. I've been a regular customer at U Haul but I will definitely taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I went to pick up a van at a 3rd party location but nobody was there. I called the main location and they accommodated me right away. The van wasn't in the best shape but it never caused me any problems and it got the job done. Overall, given my original problem I'd rate my experience 3.5 out of 5. I will use this service again

For pick up there was a wait as your computer systems were down. It wasn't the fault of the lady checking everyone in but apparently this is a regular occurrence. Getting your computer systems upgraded would vastly improve your customer service. Otherwise the experience was good. The truck worked, was easy to operate and the return process was quick and easy.

The U-HAUL fuel level at pick up was incorrectly recorded by a staff member. My partner took a picture of the gas level when we picked up the U-HAUL and filled it up for drop off to the exact same level, however, we were advised we did not put enough fuel back in the vehicle. We showed the photos we had taken (in front of the pick up location in Hare Bay, before we left the parking lot) to show as proof that this was the fuel we were provided. Very disjointed customer service and overall poor experience. There was someone else's garbage left in the truck when we picked it up as well, which we cleaned up.
