Testimonials from recent customers of Appalachian Trading & Storage
I actually had reserved it to be picked up at freedom wireless, I had rented u haul there before and they had great customer service , the lady at Appalachian trading whom did my overall contract went above an beyond but the gentleman that seem to own the business was very rude and the u haul was very greasy in the box the cab was very clean and it's a practically brand new truck but I had to spend almost an hour on the loading deck cleaning just so I didn't ruin my furniture,
Office was closed website said opr until 2 on Saturdays
Pickup was quick, vehicle was ready, no complications, personnel was extremely helpful. Except for the distance from our house (which could not be helped) I would use this location again with no hesitation.
Excellent customer service. Very polite and professional.
The U-Haul Manager was very nice and courteous.
Did not appear to know what they were doing. The truck was extremely beat up and in very poor condition, and it was dirty inside. Did not give me all the information I needed for the insurance. Truck also leaked severely causing a significant amount of my belongings to become wet and water damaged.
Great experience. Good customer service
No recommendations for improvement. The staff and management at Appalachian Trading were absolutely wonderful! Each member of their team really went above and beyond to make our U-Haul renting experience a perfect breeze. Thank you!!!
Customer service was excellent.
I am not happy with my booking experience. They waited until sunday evening to tell me I had to drive 55 miles one way to pick up a uhaul, then charged me .69 for each mile I had to go to pick up the uhaul and return it back, so basically I was charged $75 just to drive the uhaul to pick it up an return it, not short of extortion.
yes I paid for five days and returned the trailer in two was I due a refund
Superb aid in making equipment ready and packing items.
The 26 ft. Truck had plenty of power to handle the mountains but the suspension was rough which is hard on the furniture. Over all, a good move. Thanks for all your help.
I had no issue with this location except that it was 60 miles from the location I specified a week earlier in my contract. If you are not going to provide locations with standard equipment inventories to match their orders I would rather know it earlier than the night before I need the equipment so I can make other arrangements. In the future I will do all I can to avoid using U-haul as a supplier.
I think uhaul is a great way to move there very friendly and helpful ill defiantly be using them again if need highly recomended
The trailer was parked at a different location and the lady only gave me directions to where it was. She did not inspect the trailer nor my vehicle. She also had an attitude because it was her "day off" and she had only stopped by for a minute and no one else was there. The trailer was parked in a field unattended with no lock on it as well.
The slip I received show the truck had a quarter of a tank of gas. When I got in the truck the gas gauge showed it was on empty! I was worried I would not make it to a gas station. The owner at the station gave me $20 dollars out of his own pocket! This did NOT cover the deficit of a quarter of a tank! I returned it with a quarter of a tank with the fear of being charged more for the gas that was never in it!
The check in was slow- not sure whether it was due to the location or U haul.
Excellent job. Friendly, helpful, professional. Good experience!
I had reserved this truck less than a mile from my house but ended up having to travel over an hour to pick up the truck. You should make every effort to have the trucks available at the location from which they are reserved. I had only 1 day to move and at least 2 and a half hours was spent traveling to pick up the truck
Have all the equipment at the pick up location so the customer dosent need to go driving all over two counties to find what she needs. You need to provide the correct tow dolly for the car that the customer has not just whatever is there when the customer has told you the make and modle and year of the car. Our car was damaged because the tow dolly was the wrong one for our car. The front skirt of thr car was broken off. I will never use this company again way two many screw ups form one company.
The person we spoke with was very nice and helpful.
He was a true professional. We will use his service again and we will recommend him to others in the future.
Just a couple of things. The truck was clean and well maintained but the moving dollie needed to be retired. Also, when I returned the truck the parking lot was blocked off by ropes, I told them I would be back around 5pm and I came back at 4:30pm. I barely had a place to park it, near a busy, dangerous street. My car was also roped in so I had to figure out how to get it out.
I returned the truck after hours. And left the key in a drop box, the problem is he had a rope tied his lot off and I felt uncomfortable having the truck left only 4 feet of the main road. Otherwise ok experiance
reservation cancelled at 435 on a friday. Had to drive 300 miles to get a truck putting my move 6 hours behind. Service from corporate u haul was awful and I will never use your company again and I will recommend my friends and family do the same. Shame on U Haul.
The Staff Here was very friendly, and did everything they could to help me.
the tires were old and dry rotted, they caused a blow out which placed my family at risk, and on top of that it took 2 hours to get a u-haul rep there to change the tires. I would appreciate a partial if not total refund due to this lack of caring on U-hauls part for my families safety
Check the truck. The "check engine" light was on when we picked up the truck and the guy told US to check the oil and make sure everything was fine! That is not our job. We were nervous about driving the truck the whole time because we didn't know if something was wrong. Not a pleasant experience when moving across the state. Also, the truck location was not at the store location. The guy did not go with us to show us which truck.
It had limited space to get off the highway but it is in the mountains and there are not many flat spots for anything. I would return to this location again if I needed a trailer again when in that area,
I appreciate the 24/7 dropoff it works with my schedule
when I called to make the reservation directly with them the gentleman I talked to couldn't have been nices and more helpful. In the course of conversation he knew we were hoping to get an early start on loading because we had a 5 hour drive once the house was loaded up. he offered to come in earlier that the 9AM so we could pick up the trailer. most folks don't give that kind of service any more. he was wonderful to work with!
Very friendly person at Slate Creek business. However, I tried to confirm pick up the day before but no one in office - only nonreturnable voice mails....person later there explained owner on vacation and had intermittent office hours. When I previously reserved on line earlier in the week I checked with Richlands preferred location and 10' box truck was available however when I received a text from uhaul (requested phone call when reserved on line not text) was told to pick it up at another location over 30 miles away?? Everything eventually worked out okay.....one more thing, I tried for approximately 2 1/2 hours trying to get through to Customer service when I couldn't confirm at the Slate Creek location....put on hold 8 and 9 minutes respectively, calls dropped, finally cancelled due to not knowing if I would actually be able to pick it up and when I finally got through to customer service was told I would be penalized $50 if I didn't pick it up....that's what prompted me to cancel..I called the Slate Creek location again the next morning and got an answer and the nice gentleman downloaded my previous cancelled contract and worked everything out. My suggestion would be better customer service - because when given the options on recorded line I would punch the appropriate number and the recording would simply start over again...very frustrating to get through to an agent. I tried the chat line and the lady, who was very prompt to respond, referred me to the customer service telephone line which was not efficient at all.
We were charged for fees that were already paid at the initial day of rental. I would not recommend the person that we rented off of to my dog.
It was frustrating that we rented the U-Haul early, but had to wait until two days before pick-up for the order to drop into the computer at the pick-up location. The owners of the U-Haul rental didn't even know we'd ordered and reserved one until we called to request the order be dropped into their system. We think this should be changed to allow more time to arrange for a truck as they aren't always available for the size or time you want.
Nothing really. Very helpful.
Nothing. The agent was excellent and even waited for us a half hour after closing time Friday evening as we had run into unexpected traffic delays. We can't thank him enough!
This may not be a fair evaluation as to rental return. The equipment was returned at about 1:30 AM on a rainy, stormy morning and the location was very difficult to find in the weather. There was a car lot beside of the UHaul rental building, which was roped off and we could not enter. There was only a very small area to pull in and park the truck on the side of the road.
Mack Keen was a Great Guy and a pleasure to work with. A guy that go above and beyond. You just don't see that much any more. He is an example to others.
Rounding up a Uhaul seems to be the biggest problem. No one ever has one and they tell you they can't get one, but you can request it online and have it made available better than a dealer can. I called all surrounding areas (more than 6) and ended up linking up in the next state rather than my own hometown or one nearest there causing me to have to pay more mileage when all was said and done.
Truck was exceptionally clean and relatively new. Vendor was absolutely great when I finally found one. All the others were so nice and apologetic about not having one available. It was a phoning fiasco just trying to find one. Going online wasn't easier either.
The trailer leaked in the right rear corner.
the equipment light wasn't working . i wasn't happy at all.
Never rent U -haul,because,they cheat you, never give your credit card to them, they charge, unexpected and unfair charges. They tell you one thing and cheat you for money and take as much advantage from you as possible.Never ,never rent a u-haul at any time.
